Lovely refurbished hotel in perfect location.Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: The location is particularly good and as the hotel is not part of a chain it has individuality and style. It is not really a hotel for children.
Location: The hotel is beside the station, close to the tramways and the tourist information. It is also well placed for walking to many tourist sites.
We had a quiet room and were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was lovely. The rooms are refurbished and the hotel is an old Victorian era building. The rooms were large and there are lots of spaces full of sofas and chairs, flowers and chandeliers, to sit and watch the world go by if that's your thing. The hotel is perfectly placed for eating out at night and provided a good variety for the buffet breakfast selection as well as snacks in the evening. It would not be good for children as there are no facilities except a bar. It is ideal for couples sight seeing. You do need to be fit as the whole town is built on hills but it was very relaxing to come back at the end of the day and freshen up before going out for supper.

Fantastic old style hotel!Posted Jan 13, 2014
Pros: Polite helpful staff, beautiful antique decor, excellent food as grand hotels used to be
Cons: No tea making facilities in rooms
Location: Super location in heart of city with shops, restaurants, public transport etc very nearby
Came with husband to celebrate 60 the birthday Was given an unexpected upgrade on arrival ( they hadn't been told this was reason for our stay) so I said "how wonderfull it's my birthday today". Shortly after we had been shown up to our luxurious suite, there was a knock on the door & a complimentary bottle of champagne was wheeled in on a trolley for us - another wonderful surprise!

Good central locationPosted Dec 11, 2013
Pros: Breakfast and location
Cons: Tea facilities in the room, though Starbucks next door helped a bit
Location: Central, st just a, the main shopping areas, Gloria elavador and Baird alto all nearby, short walk to the riverside and also parks.
Nice welcome, and small but comfortable room, decor is quite grand, but in places a bit tired. Breakfast was lovely and great selection. Location made hopping a pruned lisbon easy, with the castle and lifts within in easy walking distance

Great old hotel and locationPosted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: Location and history of the hotel. The staff is top of the line.
Cons: The beds are old, hard and really need to be replaced.
Location: Everything. Trams, shopping, food, history. The whole town is easy to get to from the hotel.
Very nice staff, an old world hotel in great shape. Near everything and has parking.

Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted Nov 10, 2013
Cons: Nothing - it's superb.
Location: See above. Location couldn't be better.
Can't fault this hotel. Spent 3 nights there in October 2013. It is excellently placed for visiting all the sights that Lisbon has to offer. Loads of restaurants to suit all budgets on the doorstep. Breakfast which was included in the price was superb. Wonderful décor & lovely staff. And the bus from the airport stops right outside.

Location, location, locationPosted Nov 10, 2013
The hotel is centrally located in downtown Lisbon with easy access to the Metro (subway), railway, street trams, and steps away from restaurants, shopping, and several major tourist sites. Hotel staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Hotel has a classic atmosphere and ambience that attracts a more mature clientele. We went in November which was cool enough to open windows at night. If staying during the summer months, air-conditioning is a must as noise from outside may be overwhelming if windows are left open. Breakfast buffet is good but may need variety as selection is the same everyday. Gym was limited and disappointing. All in all, a good hotel. Would stay there again.
