Great spot to stay in Lisbon!Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: It is clean with large roms. The breakfast was very plentiful and served until late morning, which helps with the jet lag from the States.
Location: The location is just off the main drag so it is quiet, but main attractions are walkable.
We highly recommned Hotel Britania as a nice oasis in the middle of Lisbon. It is a quiet boutique hotel with beautiful art deco details, and a friendly, helpful staff. They had great recommendations for dinners, and were very helpful with transportaion in and around Lisbon.

A TOUCH OF ELEGANCE AND PAMPERINGPosted Apr 19, 2015
Location: Great location with easy access to restaurants, shops, riverside and transport to the many places of interest
From the moment we arrived (in the rain) the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It is difficult to describe in words how lovely the whole experience of staying here was. The service was exceptional, everything about the room was wonderful and all the staff were attentive and friendly. We were a party of six women friends and felt truly "pampered". Afternoon tea and pastries in the library was totally unexpected (not to mention the port and cherry brandy!) - very nice after a long day of walking and sightseeing. A most memorable experience all round which felt like stepping back in time when hotels were only for the rich and famous.

Ten days in LisbonPosted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: There was really nothing to dislike about this hotel. It was pleasant, well equipped, friendly and accommodating. Spotlessly clean.
Cons: The group as a whole do not have restaurant facilities but the staff know of good restaurants nearby that they can point you towards for a good meal.
Location: There is shopping in top end clothing shops and street bars. Stanislav's is a must. Beware, footpaths can be slippery and uneven for the elderly.
Our family decided on a holiday in Lisbon but had to have suitable access for two 83 year olds (my parents) with limited walking ability. The hotel had to be central to the city and have to be of a quality to suit the lifestyle that they are used to! As it happened the hotel was one road back from the Libertade Avenue and without the street sign outside it would be possible to miss it. The hotel is part of the Heritage Group and having stayed previously at one of its other hotels it would appear that the group have a policy of keeping their frontages very understated. However, once inside you are greeted by really friendly staff, all of whom can speak good English. They will go out of their way to help you, as they did with us, and still manage to keep smiling. The decoration is art deco style as this was the original style of the hotel and the restoration work is well done. The rooms are spacious with polished cork flooring and the usual amenities (TV, DVD player, tea and coffee etc). Beds are comfortable and firm and there is a safe in the wardrobe. Water in the en suite is piping hot and as befits this hotel everything is spotlessly clean. My wife has to rest in the afternoons so the staff always made sure that our room was serviced in the mornings. Breakfast lasts all morning and has a range of hot (scrambled egg, bacon, sausage) and cold (ham, salami, cheese) self service meals with a variety of fruit and endless cups of tea or coffee. Parents were pleased.

Great hotel. Lots of character, beautifully presented. Very spacious rooms, even with a cot bed. Staff very attentive, particularly as we had a one-year old with us. Great location, easy to access from the AeroBus and Metro. Lots of attractions within walking distance. Highly recommended!

Pros: All of it
Location: Very close to city centre. 10 minute stroll got to the city main square.

Great hotel in good locationPosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Lovely room, friendly staff, location.
Location: A visit to the castle is a must - take the tour or the tram.
The Britania is far enough away from the centre of Lisbon to avoid the crowds but only a 10 minute walk from restaurants and transport. The breakfasts are excellent and the tea, pastries and port much appreciated after a long day sightseeing. Take sturdy shoes - Lisbon has many hilly cobblestone streets. The 48 hour bus and tram pass is a bargain - we took three leisurely open top tours in two days plus local trams - and you can even use the ticket on the airport bus on your return.

WONDERFUL LISBONPosted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: everything, there was nothing not to like
Cons: maybe more variety at breakfast, particularly if you are staying there for a weekv
Location: close to the metro and an easy stroll to local restaurants and a 10 min walk to the train station, great situation
Just back from a wonderful trip to Lisbon, stayed at a fantastic hotel, where everything was 'spot on', can't wait to go back next year! Thanks Expedia for your winter sale! Same again next year please!
