Great location, great staff and great breakfastPosted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: As above, the staff stood out for their friendliness and helpfulness.
Cons: As above, a slight problem with the shower screen, otherwise brilliant
Location: Belem area is full of monuments to visit, including the Jeronimos Monastery, the Tower of Belem and The Discoveries monument. Loads of museums.
We stayed here for a week in October and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very comfortable with a very stylish bar and lounge area. It is located in Belem, one of the loveliest areas in the Lisbon area. it is very convenient for public transport with trams and buses a short walk away. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with marble bathrooms and we had a great view of the Jeronimos monastery from our window. The hotel's main asset I would say is its staff-without exception friendly and helpful. The breakfast was brilliant too with smoked salmon and champagne as well as a great selection of hot and cold food, including the famous Pasteis de Belem-fabulous custard tarts made just along the road. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, except on a Monday when almost all the monuments and museums close. There is a good selection of restaurants in the area to suit all purses. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would certainly stay there again if I visit Lisbon, which I would do at the drop of a hat. The only slight problem I had was with the shower screen in our room which did not fit properly and made it a bit difficult to have a shower without wetting the floor but it was a minor problem, more than made up for by everything else.

Best Location in BelemPosted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Staff, location, size and cleanliness.
Ideally located, modernist boutique hotel with good sized rooms and bathrooms (by European standards). Slight wear and tear (as usual with most modernist properties) but very clean. The multilingual staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is good with a variety of offerings (fresh squeezed and Belem pastries!!!). Most importantly the hotel is right across the street from the Monastery and within easy walking distance of all of the major Belem monuments and museums. Its almost next door to the Belem pastry shop (arrive before 9:00 to avoid to tourist lineups or after 8:00 PM)...and there are a quite a number of quaint but excellent restaurants in the immediate area. Overall a much more relaxing place to stay than in Lisbon itself...and more to see in Belem anyways.

Fantastic staffPosted Sep 24, 2014
Overall we had a really good stay everything was fine except our room which was on the fourth floor (in the loft) was too hot even though we had the air con on all the time. Ask for a room on a different floor. All of the staff were a credit to this hotel and couldn't do enough to help which made our week even more enjoyable. Belem is a lovely place to stay, very near to Lisbon town, and the public transport is very easy to use.

Lovely boutique hotel in BelemPosted Jun 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
Peaceful hotel right in the middle of Belem, clean modern style without feeling cold, nothing luxurious either. Rooms are not huge but comfortable and functional, spacious bathroom, good bed, occulting curtains, thick carpet. wifi works fine though breaks at times. It's very quiet (the room was on the back) and truly relaxing, esp after a stay in the center of Lisbon. The Breakfast buffet is great, with variety, fresh assortments, well kept and includes Pasteis de Belem too (although the pastelaria is worth a visit, 5 minutes from the hotel). Did not try the wine bar, checked it once and it was empty then. The staff is nice, helpful but staying discret. There is much to visit, do, and see in Belem itself, also nice places to chill, eg cafe do forto next to the tower of Belem, the jardim tropical botanico. If you are looking for lively nightlife, Belem is not the place, otherwise it's great. Public transports in Lisbon are easy, clean and safe, also cheap, so access to Lisbon center from Belem is quick, it's also a short taxi drive (about 10 min, 8-10€ Depending on the exact location). I'll look forward to come back to hotel Jeronimos 8.

Excellent Location and good breakfast.Posted May 3, 2014
Pros: Service and the Manager.
Cons: Put exhaust fan in bathroom.
Room could be cleaner and the bathroom felt a little cramped with no exhaust fan. Breakfast was very good and you cannot beat the location. Doecis the Manager is very helpful.

Great location - congress centrePosted Apr 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent location to attend a meeting in the congress centre which was a 20 minute walk or taxi journey costing about 7 euros. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great typical restaurant 2 minutes away called Os Jeronimos, lovely Portuguese food at really reasonable prices.

Nice hotel steps away from Jeronimos Monastery.Posted Jan 12, 2014
Pros: Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful from the morning breakfast staff to the evening bar staff and especially the front desk staff.
Cons: Low seating in lobby is not good for people with bad knees.
Location: You can walk to the monastery, monument, palace, carriage museum and if a good walker, the Belem Tower. Many good restaurants nearby.
The front desk staff were super helpful, especially when we wanted a nice New Year's Eve dinner that evening. They called around and made reservations at an excellent place nearby. The bar is not used much and offers only a little food but was a nice, quiet haven after a busy day. There is also a large lobby area with low seating. Rooms are large and comfortable and quiet. Windows open. Bed had a nice warm comforter for our chilly nights. Breakfast buffet was fantastic but go early if you want a Belem pastry. We liked the convenience of being able to walk to so many sites The trolley stop which can take you into the old part of Lisbon and the Yellow Bus (tours) are next door. Location is excellent for all of the Belem sites.

Excellent experience!!!Posted Oct 15, 2013
Hotel staff went overboard trying to make my stay even more pleasant. They are very organized passing information from one shift to the next. No queries were lost between shifts or unattended. Excellent breakfast. Clean. The only thing I would rate 4/5 is the room size, but I'm not sure how this compares with other hotels in Portugal, it might be the same for all. The location is by far the best. It is right next to the monastery (you can see it from your window), steps from the river, Belem tower, famous Portuguese cafeterias, cultural center, bus stop, trolley stations, I could go on. You can't go wrong with this hotel.
