Great hotel in the best part of town

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Charming, spacious and super helpful staff. We arrived late in the evening and were greater with a glass of port. Their breakfast is plentiful including fresh fruit, pastries, and eggs. The location is on the most historic and interesting square in the city and close to all of the sites and great restaurants . The rooms are spacious and quiet. Staff was super helpful, relaxed and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel close to everything

Great boutique hotel close to everything. Nice staff and the only negative side was the 2 twin beds, not what you expect in a hotel like this.

Fabulous stay!

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and the room was clean and modern looking. The full breakfast every morning and port wine at 4:30 were great.
Location: Right next to Largo do Carmo, Convento do Carmo, Elevador de Santa Justa, near Rossio Square and station.
We got to the hotel at 9am and were tired but knew we couldn't check in yet. The woman at the front desk said we could leave our bags but before we took off for the day, why didn't we go in for their free breakfast? What a nice welcome to Lisbon! When we returned exhausted at 4:30, another woman at the front desk said they were serving port wine in the restaurant. So of course, we went in. They had 3 kinds of wine to chose from plus plates of pastries for our enjoyment. The last night we were there, we were lamenting that we never made it to the Port Wine Museum. One of the bartenders, Guilherme gave us our own private tasting of 3 different ports! We found that the staff was truly welcoming and would return here again. We also found that the hotel is very close to Rossio Square and station so it was easy to get around the city by metro or bus.

Really pleased with this hotel. Close to Barrio Alto and other attractions for walking or getting to the metro. The rainfall shower was amazing. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a great variety and was very good.

Lovely stay but one issue

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Staff, location and fantastic breakfast!
Cons: Rooms should be checked for problems - we had 2 light fittings that had fallen out of ceiling and wall - was reported twice but not fixed during stay
Had a lovely stay in this hotel but although had paid extra for River View there was no veiw whatsover other than building opposite. Staff were wonderful and Manager arranged refund of the extra amount paid. It did not spoil our stay as the hotel and staff are wonderful, but does need to be sorted for future guests

Great Location. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Great central location.
Cons: Breakfast was very busy and could do with a few more staff on duty during the busy period to accommodate everyone.
Location: Close to everything downtown. Good shopping and restaurants/bars. Tram Stops and Metro.
Reception staff very friendly and helped me with information regarding places to go and see and how to get their on my own. Room was excellent and very comfortable.

Hotel nice, but hard to get around

We were very happy with our stay, but we traveled with my 75-years-old mother and she found very difficult to walk around the hotel, taking into account that the hotel is on a hill.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, in centre of town

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Stayed here for 6 days, nice hotel in the centre of town, convenient for nightlife but on a quiet square that closes at midnight. Room was good, went for a cheaper option so had no view, but was clean and tidy & the bed & bathroom functioned well. Bathroom has a glass wall into the bedroom, but there is a modesty blind that can be brought into play so you can select when your partner gets to see you, in the shower, but not using the toilet, perhaps. Staff were excellent, friendly and not overbearing. Went with my boyfriend, so gay friendly, if that matters to you.
