Central

Posted Jan 24, 2015

Location: Bairo Alto, Ciado, Fado, Strassenbahn E28, Elevado da Gloria

...now it is just an old hotel, but for sure not an luxury design hotel. The bathroom was old as well as all carpets.

Nice hotel in great location

Posted Jan 6, 2015
I would return to Mercy Hotel. It has all the amenities of a top quality hotel and is in a great location. Rooms are a bit small but being steps away from the best shopping and dining district in Lisbon more than makes up for it. Excellent service too.

Lovely boutique hotel

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: The excellent staff, cosy peaceful room and location.
Cons: More electric sockets for charging phones etc.
We stayed at The Mercy Hotel for a New Years Eve trip to Lisbon. The staff excellent, very helpful and welcoming, even to the point of ensuring our friend, who lives in Lisbon, was taken home safely at 3am on NYE. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Barrio Alto and Chiado areas so you get the best of shopping, bars and restaurants. Although I would advise wearing comfortable shoes for exploring.... I had no idea Lisbon was so hilly! There are some lovely restaurants in the Barrio Alta area, we had great meals at very reasonable prices. The room was small but cosy and the bed was very comfortable. We slept well even though we overlooked the main road. My only criticism of the room is the lack of spare sockets to charge phones/iPad etc. I had to crawl under the bedside cabinet to unplug the lamp to charge my phone! I small problem I know, but unusual in a new hotel in this day and age when we all travel with various bits of technology. All in all Lisbon is definitely worth a visit for a weekend away and the Mercy is a great base for exploring.

hôtel particulièrement bien situé

Posted Dec 30, 2014

Boutique hotel on border of Bario Alto and Chaido

Posted Dec 28, 2014
Upgraded to front room on 5th Floor with views over Bario Alto roofs at €30 per day. Room was spacious and facilities good. The black colour scheme of the hotel corridors and bathroom took some getting used to. Wifi was free but unstable. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly.
