OK property but the food is not good at all. Both breakfast and dinner are not tasty at all. Especially dinner though. Hotel is OK in terms of room quality but nothing more. Staff is very friendly and really want to provide good service.

Beautiful week at a beautiful hotel- our deluxe villa was mostly private with the exception of the noise from the playground directly behind our villa which was quite disturbing daily- the breakfast staff was very accommodating and everyone was friendly and helpful- only criticisms of the villa is that the bathrooms lacked privacy and there was a lack of pleasant landscaping around the villas, although the rest of the property was beautifully landscaped - although the villas were nicely furnished, I expected a more luxurious accommodation from the 5 star property

Barely a Family hotel.
Not advised for early rising families. Children below 3 are not allowed to use the indoor playroom until family time at mid day, even if the parent is in close proximity. Our child is 2.5 years, potty trained and attends school. His only option was to go into a small room for infants at a surcharge or wet his clothes outside as nothing was wiped down. The outdoor chairs at the play area were not wiped down from overnight rain. The trampoline was wet, no night covers so kids get wet waiting for the play room to open at 9:30am. Swings and slide not wiped down either. The indoor pool only opens at 10am. Football balls were soft which shows a geberal lack of care and attention. The kids play centre closes at 16:30. I shake my head in amazement. What on earth are parents to do from 16:30? Descend all at once to the indoor pool? Imagine a hotel full of buggies and 50% of them will pass stairs to their room without a ramp. It’s disgraceful. In the evening you can order the bar menu but the tables are not setup to eat as the tables are knee height. The main restaurant only serves a buffet of very very average food or you can order room service. The purpose to visit this hotel is to have the kids taken off your hands for a short while and regrettably this is not what the hotel delivers. Mid day to 16:30 access is all that’s provided and it’s self service.

If you have kids under the age of about 8, this place is perfect. If, however, you have teenage kids, there is very little in the way of activities for them to do. The tennis academy wasn’t running when we were there (not enough interest), and there weren’t sufficient numbers to run other activities.

Beautiful hotel. Great for families. My 7 year old described it as "epic!". There is a selection of swimming pools and a large playground. Food is quite pricey and there isn't a huge variety. But all good quality and you can eat at the nearby town of Cascais, which is lovely. Would definitely recommend.

I loved the facilities available for kids and the staff - they were super friendly and helpful - my toddler loved it! Disappointing was the food. The breakfast was standard for a good hotel - not 5* but it was fine. The pool bar food was good too and good options for kids. The pool bar closed @ 6pm and the only other option was the main restaurant. This was good for kids (buffet option and also a menu) however the quality for adults was very mediocre. The menu was over complicated and very 'chefy' but the execution and overall quality was poor. With main courses priced @ EUR 25 this was really disappointing, A meal for two came in at over EUR 120 and only one of us was drinking wine. My recommendation would be to keep the menu simple, reduce prices and focus on the quality. The food was not in line with the overall standard of the hotel.

Awesome stay in Cascais. Breakfast spread was great every morning and the staff everywhere is incredibly sweet and helpful. We booked several tours through the hotel and none disappointed. The overall facility is clean and fantastic for kids. We could have stayed for much longer. Would highly recommend!

Great hotel, excellent facilities for kids. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Perfect location, although nothing is in walking distance. Food was pricey but nice. Rooms were excellent but the bedroom was small so two young children no one slept well. In future I’d consider a villa or getting an adjoining room. Only recommendation would be to have mire for adults as, despite the excellent staff and facilities, it felt slightly ‘souless’ - live entertainment, adults only time in the spa, cocktail hour to encourage adults to get together etc

Amazing hotel for families
We had a wonderful stay at Martinhal Cascais. It’s so well set up for families. The kids club is brilliant and our kids wanted to go all the time! It’s very safe and secure. There were lots of lovely touches such as the kids club staff are around at breakfast and dinner to help entertain the kids. The playground is amazing and there is a secure gate in and out so the kids can’t leave without you. The film nights and kids party nights are great too. The only thing that wasn’t so great was the lunch and dinner offer. The menus are quite limited (and very overpriced) so after 10 days it’s very boring and expensive - you definitely need to go out via taxi into Cascais to eat. We even went to Lidl and bought in food for lunch! Some people seemed to be on half board but this wasn’t offered to us - this would’ve been a good option.

Perfect to relax with family
Very well set up for families. Everything you need for children in room. Lovely breakfast, lots of options and plastic plates etc for children. Great kids club - one tip, most seemed to go in the afternoon, so this was the best time to go as more children to play with. Three different pool areas. Great playground. Staff very friendly. My only complaint.... This hotel is situated in s residential area with nothing around it. For those without a car there is a shuttle to cascais centre and beach but it costs 1.50 per person, each way. This should be complimentary, given the cost if the hotel. Other than that a great stay. I would return.

Great hotel for kids! My 6 year old and 1 year old were extremely well looked after. The only downside was that the restaurants are in the expensive side for adults to dine, we ate out a couple of nights and were surprised when the bill was half of what we were paying at the hotel.

Amazing family hotel 40 minutes from Lisbon airport. They have all the infrastructure you need for your kid, no matter the age. The only "issue" is that they only have 2 restaurants and the menu is limited. I only stayed for 2 days and it was ok, but if I had to stay a full week, then it would become a problem.

I made my reservation with 3 months in advance. Before I began my trip with family I discovered a cancer that could not allow me to travel because the treatment. I contact the hotel requesting cancelation, and they didn’t accept refund any day of my stay. I hope they enjoy stealing my money.

Beautiful location close to many attractions
The Hotel was located very close to the beaches. Lisbon was only 35 minutes away. The main attractions were all near Cascais. The Hotel Staff and service was beyond our dreams. The best part of our trip was the Kids club and amenities. I have a 6 and 9 year old and they loved it. Perfect hotel stay for families traveling with children.

The playground is excellent. Found the service in the ground restaurant to be quite slow and often had to make repeated requests for missing items from the breakfast buffet such as plastic cups, bowls etc for the children. Great Hotel for Young Families
We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the hotel with our 11 year old. The hotel design and facilities are great. I think we discovered it a bit late, as definitely those with younger children would get the most from what was on offer. Staff are very helpful. Food was OK, with mealtimes a bit hectic given the business over half term and the number of young children ... both of which are to be expected. We enjoyed our stay and thought the area was great for a holiday.

Honeymoon Heaven!
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty by the friendly, English-speaking staff. The hotel is situated in its own quiet grounds which makes it great for families and is just a short shuttle bus ride from the beautiful resort of Cascais. The restaurant and bar food were top quality and the breakfasts were the best we've ever had. We can't rate the entire staff (reception, bar, cleaning) highly enough. Their exceptional service created a never-to-be-forgotten honeymoon.
