I imagine this to have been a very typical old-style Portuguese property where you will have tiles on walls and a sink in your room. But the property was very clean and I slept really well at night. Plus it is in the very middle of Baxia, and you cannot stay at a more interesting place while in Lisbon!

Excellent location, friendly staff
Staff was friendly and very helpful. The kitchen, Salas, wc shower and room are well maintained and spotless :-) however there's no AC. Prepare for cardio exercise as it is located on the 4th floor and no elevator. Had a nice stay here :-)

Cosy place, great location to explore old area by foot. Nice little balcony. Only thing if you have a heavy bag note you have to climb up 4 flights of stairs.

Charming guesthouse in the heart of Lisbon
I had a comfortable 3-night guesthouse stay that felt cosy like visiting grandma's house back in time. The reception and service was friendly and the Portuguese tiling and furnishings full of character. Best I loved the central location for walking around the beautiful old town, the main shopping streets lined with restaurants and to the waterfront. The city views from the balconies are very pretty and the location is super quiet because there is no vehicular traffic below. My single room was small with a sink (shared toilet and shower in hallway), and a cooling fan, heater and extra blankets that I didn't need in July. A basic kitchen (fridge, microwave) and sitting room with tv are shared, and free tea/coffee with biscuits are provided. The free wifi worked well and there were several outlets in the room for charging devices. I would recommend asking for a room with a balcony and bringing light luggage only, as the guesthouse is on the 4th floor and there is no lift in the building.

John was quite helpful! Also provided great tips. The bathrooms couldve been cleaner, as Gisela was constantly cleaning, but just the amount of people using it did not help her or the maintenance of the cleanliness. Great location though!

Clean, cheap and central
I stayed 2 nights in the Pensao Aljubarrota and it suited my needs perfectly, I do hope to stay there again in the future, it might not suit everyone's tastes as it is rather old fashioned, the stairs are very steep and it's a long climb to the 4th floor and there are no TV's in the rooms, but it is very clean, and has a very handy kitchen where guests can cook their own meals, the location is very central and only a short walk from trams, metro, Rossio railway station etc., there are lot's of places to eat nearby and there is a McDonnalds a short walk away with free wifi. This hotel is very reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly and a pleasure to deal with, to sum up the rooms are basic, but it is clean, the location is central and the staff are brilliant. Fourth Floor, and Worth the Walk
This hotel was almost like coming home. Yes; the room was small, but we don't need much. And the balcony french windows open on to one of the main shopping streets in the old part of downtown Lisbon. We spoke agreeably every day with the friendly staff here who explained, among other things, that no; I didn't break the french door . . . the way you turn the handle determines whether it's a door to the balcony or a tilt-in window for ventilation. The kitchen is open 24/7. Everything we needed was there . . . fresh fruit, dishes, cookware. Grocery stores are everywhere within a block or two, and we even found refrigerated pasteurized milk (as opposed to packaged sterilized) within three block. We're within half a dozen blocks of the oldest operating bookstore in the world, the Metro, even a railway station. This place is great. The in-suite toilet is a little cramped, but it's no worse than on an airliner. We are both happy campers. There's no elevator, and seventy-four steps is a workout, but I'm getting trimmer, and we walk everywhere anyway. If this apartment were in our price range, we'd seriously think about buying it to live in. Seriously. This place is great. Oh, and street entertainment and restaurants are EVERYWHERE. Wifi works perfectly.

Amazing location - couldn't be better. Arrived to a very warm welcome from host, Luis. He was very friendly and make me feel at home straight away. I would definitely come again and recommend to other!

Location is perfect. Luis was so friendly and helpful. I saw some bad comments regarding shower and wifi but it’s updated! I had hot shower and WiFi worked fine in the room too. I would definitely recommend and will come back again!

Bruno and Sandra at the front desk were totally fantastic and helpful! The place was a bit rundown and the neighborhood was central but not so charming. We didn't know we'd have a very long walk up to the 4th floor (which felt like the 8th). Best coffee ever!

Oh my god! Need to aware that picture is not same ! no elevator. its 4th floor but is like 8th floor . no receptionist ever. it was too dirty . never clean room . smell . hard to open the door, key is very old style. no hot shower. you will have cold shower. I want my money back

Great location and really nice staff
Enjoyed my stay - right in the centre of everything so great location. I arrived on a night tran so really early in the morning but there was a lovely Lady there to help. SHe helped carry my bags up. Really nice room and balcony too

It is in a good location, but difficult finding the door to the place. Turns out I was the only person in the place. I checked in and i was told to drop off my keys when I leave, kinda weird not to see anyone for 2 days.... No blankets on the bed, heater didn't really work and both pillows were very hairy. Tough stay. Oh and the place kind of smelled....

Very very very very bad place to stay
if you are a fool then only you will book this hotel which is not a hotel at all. It's on 4th floor which is like 8th floor while climbing and no lift at all . The hotel name shown is not the name of hotel it's new ajubarrta ..you can track the hotel also from streets no sign boards at all you will keep hunting to track the hotel .the room and the entry hotel stink a lot as there is no ventilation I had to use 3 deodrants to survive nights there .. Hotels .com is selling this through Expedia .com and if you contact hotels .com for complains by email they won't reply to you till your stay is over . Shame on hotels .com to do such cheap tricks and sell this hotels on their site ..,

Worst hotel to stay for even free ...
If you are a fool bigger than me then you will book the hotel . Read my review. This hotel is on 4th floor which is like 8 floors height and there is no lift you have to climb which is not good. The interior are too old the room and entire area stinks as there is no ventilation the doors are almost broken condition . The name is not exactly what they have shown in booking name it's something new ajubarrta . I used almost 3 deodorants to survive there . Worst part hotels.com is selling it but it's through Expedia.com & although after so many complains they don't revert your emails till you check out .

First of all, you can't find it. It doesn't have any sign on the front or anything. Its on the 4th floor and then it doesn't have any elevator. People stop working at 6pm, so if you come after 6pm, there is no one to help you or attend you. They have a phone number but it doesn't work, and no one answer it. End up in another hotel.

Really enjoyed staying here. Older building but fantastic location, very central in old town area. Walk to everything and pedestrian streets below so very quiet. Free to use kitchen and dining area. Only issue for some might be that it is on 4th floor with no lift. Great outlook too.

I was going to stay in this hotel, but reception is only open until 20:00. Since my bus from Seville did not arrive until 22:00, they made arrangements to put me up in a different hotel at the same price and with the same accommodations. It all worked out.

I got what I paid for
The rooms at the apartment block were adequate and the location was excellent. Having full access to the fridge/freezer and microwave was very handy. The building wasn't in the best condition and the decor was deplorable. Having to walk up ten flights flights of stairs (75 steps) every time I arrived back there made it a daunting prospect at the end of a long hard day sightseeing in a very beautiful city. This is a cheap place to stay and all in all I concede that I got what I pai for; to expect better quality on the cheap is to be extremely disingenuous.

pension chaleureuse au coeur de Lisbonne
La pension Aljubarrota est un lieu que je recommande vivement. Elle est très bien située, en plein centre de Lisbonne et proche de tous les moyens de transport en commun. Elle possède en plus de nombreux atouts: cuisine mise à disposition avec thé,café et fruits à volonté, balcon attenant au salon commun, les chambres avec salle de bain commune disposent d'un lavabo et les sanitaires sont très fonctionnels.L'endroit est également très calme et le personnel est très agréable.

受付が9:00-20:00しか開いていないため、深夜着の場合には前日に教えられるパスコードで入り口を開ける段取りになっていたが、入口に看板も電気もなくどこが入り口か全くわからなかった。エレベーターはなく中も電気が少なく、お化け屋敷のような暗い階段を荷物を持って４Fまであがらなければならない。部屋には暖房がなく寒くて酷かった。このような状態にもかかわらず１泊8,000円もするのは全く納得いかなかった。受付がいる場合の対応は悪くはなかったが、このホテルには絶対に宿泊したくない。

Для хостела очень комфортно, старинный уютный дом, почти везде красивая плитка Азулежу, уютная кухня, хороший душ. Отличное расположение.. приветливый персонал. Все чисто и аккуратно.

Pas luxueux mais agréable et bien situé
Petite chambre pas luxueuse du tout mais propre et agréable le matin avec une porte fenêtre donnant sur un petit balcon et laissant entrer le soleil. Excellent emplacement, très central, très commode pour visiter tous les quartiers de la ville. Minuscule cabinet de toilette avec douche et WC. Quatrième étage lumineux et aéré... mais sans ascenseur !

위치는 좋습니다. 대신 밤에 시끄러울 수 있습니다. 화장실과 샤워부스가 방에 같이 있는 건 무척 편하고 만족스러웠지만 전반적으로 시설이 오래되어 냄새가 났습니다. 더러운 게 아니라 낡아서 나는 냄새였어요. 침대 매트리스도 무척 부실하고요.

Déconseille pour les un peu âgés
Les chambres au 4 étage sans ascenseur. L ascenseur mentionne mais pas l étage. Pour les tourists un peut plus âgés avec les valises lourder c est terrible monter. Non acceptable. Les chambres sont vieilles et on sente ça partout malgré que c est propre. C est déconseille se,on moi, je suis désolé mais il faut être objectif.
