“Dom Sancho is a good deal”

We stayed at Dom Sancho for 5 nights in November 2011. It is a basic hotel, reasonably priced and in a good location. The rooms are somewhat small, as is the standard in most of Europe, the amenities are few, and the continental breakfast is simple, even by continental standards. But, the service was good, the hotel is spotless and the hotel is near shopping, restaurants and 2 metro stations. The neighborhood felt safe and we were treated well by the reception staff and housekeeping.

Dining
We recommend the nearby restaurant: Forninho Saloio...great food, great service and great prices. Lots of locals eat there, too. Authentic Portuguese cuisine. Google their name for the web site and address.

“Great location, great price. Will go back.”

This hotel is located in one of the best areas in Downtown Lisbon, very close to many places of interest. I was only there for a night but would recommend it to people visiting Lisbon. It is very good value for money. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

“Hotel Dom Sancho at Lisbon”

It is a very basic hotel, the rooms are very clean and the location is excellent. For people used to fancy hotels I wouldn't recommend it.

“Travellers rest!”

From the desk workers who were so helpful and understood everything from Fado to taking journeys to Obido, this was and is a great ,cheaer, place to go--15 minutes gentle walk and you are in the area of lisbon you want to see most-- Delightful! Breakfast is real continenental, cold meats and cheeses and breads and juices and coffee-- what more do you need!

“Great and good location”

We were really pleased. Great value, great location to see Lisbon, and really convenient for trams, metro and getting around. Bit of a down and out area but still feels safe and friendly.

See Lisbon, Cascais, Sidreh and everything you can. There´s weeks of fun here !!

“The room is so cold ...”

The heater of air condition is not work well and the room is cold. I asked the receiption he setuped the air condition, but it still not function.

Area recommendations
Faro and Tavira. Protugal, take the train for 3 hours.

“Lovely little place, great location.”

This residencial is lovely! The room was fresh and super clean. Wonderful location - you can get on the Metro at Avenida less than one block away or walk down Liberdade to Rossio etc. Comfortable bed, small desk, armoire. The bathroom was small, modern, spotless and had a bathtub. Breakfast was good, 5Euro extra unless you book it as bed-and-breakfast.

Area recommendations
Chiado - lovely architecture Bairro Alto - fun clubs, restaurants, and independent and lovely boutiques. Belem - Berardo museum is amazing.
Getting around
From the airport, go out to the curb and take the bus #745. It will stop very close to this residencial (across from the Sao Jorge movie theatres). Don't bother with the "aerobus"; the city bus costs half as much and passes directly by the hotel anyway. The bus drivers make change.

“Good and reasonably priced hotel in Lisbon”

Cosy hotel in good location. Rooms a little small. Helpful staff most of the time. Great room rate.
