“I would return ..... super location and excellent service.”
This is my second time in this hotel. If what you want is to experience Lisbon and be able to move in the downtown area without need of a car this is an excellent option. The rooms are not big but they have everything you need and they are very comfortable. We had two rooms for 5 nights and not once did we have any problems. (Ok, maybe the tv in my room was a weird shade of green but we never sat down long enough to care. Unfortunately we did not tell the front desk about it either) The front desk personnel and the doormen were always super efficient and helpful. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar and had a great breakfast at their restaurant. I would go back, no doubts about it.
“Worth it”
Great location, nicely appointed room, helpful staff with good English, but wake-up call service was deficient, old TV in room, not interactive, no on-demand films or shows.
“Last night in town”
Nice upscale hotel. The front desk lady was very friendly, the rooms were nice, and overall my wife and I were extremely pleased with the stay. The hotel is located on the shopping strip, and a close walk to the restaurants. The Metro stops right at the hotel, and the AeroBus stops very close by. The breakfast is phenomenal - 17 Euros, but worth it.
“Fantastic Hotel”
I highly recommend this hotel. The room was modern and beautiful, with extremely comfortable beds, and very nice bathroom. It was very quiet. They even turned down your bed every night and left you a chocolate. The front desk staff was extremely helpful- among the best I've ever encountered. They even sell "hop-on/hop-off" tour tickets there. They were so responsive and so nice e.g.had to leave for the airport at 6 in the morning and one of the staff went and got my friend coffee and cream from the kitchen while we were waiting for our taxi. Location is great. On a beautiful tree-lined avenue w/restaurants & shopping. We walked to the city center, restaurants, shopping, train station, ocean, etc. There is a metro station directly across the street.
“More storage, please”
Our bed was very comfortable, the staff helpful and accommodating. The location is outstanding, on a shaded boulevard with easy access to the excellent Metro system just across the street. The lack of storage space in the room was problematic. The television is in a cabinet that references old Indo-Portuguese furniture, but provides no storage. We both lived out of our suitcases for 6 days, which shouldn't have been necessary. If you'll just be in town for a weekend or so, this place is great.
“Very nice and comfortable hotel”
We definitely enjoyed this hotel. It was in a great location and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was very nice if a little small (typical for Europe though).
“July 2011 downgrade in Portugal rating influences the hotels as well...”
I had high expectations after seeing good reviews for the hotel on several sites but the hotel left me unimpressed. Small rooms, internet was spotty, the front desk staff was either misinforming or at best clueless about some attractions and places in Lisbon. Asked for a good restaurant suggestion and was sent in the port to a mediocre place, found an excellent restaurant only 2 minutes walking from the hotel.
“Excellent”
Great
“Chic Lisbon Hotel Stay”
I absolutely fell in love with Lisbon and the Hotel Sofitel. Hotel Sofitel offers a luxurious hotel stay along with a very reasonable price. The bed was extremely comfortable and I enjoyed a very restful night's sleep. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. Elizabethe at the front desk was very charming and her cheerful attitude was appreciated. The location of this hotel is superb and the area around felt very safe. I loved being able to step outside of the hotel and find great shops and restaurants. The gray line tour bus also stops daily in front of this hotel. I would go back in a heartbeat.
“Subtle luxury at great location”
Excellent position for this hotel. Rooms are elegant but small. Exercise room is too small. Staff is helpful and professional. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.
