Perfect central Lisbon locationPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: BREAKFAST : Fruit heaven and sparkling wine to wash ti down.
Cons: Try for superior rooms, Twin hand basins and better wardrobe space.
Location: Perfect location for trips by train to Sintra, Belem and Casscais.
Stayed twice for optimus alive (now nos alive!) in July 2013 and 2014. Can't fault it. Do not miss the breakfast. If you can find an all in rate take it. Metro outside front door and places to eat are legion within 10 minutes, easy access to bairro alto.

Hard to go wrong with SofitelPosted Jul 19, 2014
Well designed hotel. Excellent service. Well located. We have very good experience with Sofitel hotels. Outrageously expensive breakfast was not included (25 euros per person). Very good cafe next door quite reasonable. In a very nice double room they only give you one small bottle of complementary water (!!!)

Good valuePosted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Value vs. price, quiet room, location, friendly staff
Cons: Maintenance - closet door knobs were fouling out. I wish there was an ironing board and close iron in the room
Location: Close to the tourist area. 5 minutes walking up the hill to bar and food district, similar to flat iron NYC
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good location of the hotel. Hotel has a nice restaurant. Room was quiet. Hotel is a bit used, but clean. Closet door knobs were fouling out.

Great central locationPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The pillows were amazingly comfortable and they provided many.
Cons: The bed appeared to have a lump in the centre, but I found it to be comfortable. The cushioned chair in the room was extremely uncomfortable, though.
Location: Super location and accessible to many sights by foot.
We had a great stay in the Sofitel, Lisbon. We were close to subways, trains, buses and the bus stop to the airport (which was only 3.50 euros each) was just across the street. (taxi fee was 25 euros for 2) I found that the city doesn't have as many treed areas , which I am used to. I really appreciated being on the Avenida de Liberdade as it was tree-lined and contained many benches, statues of historic importance, and water features. The shade also provided some relief from the hot sun. Although our room faced the street, it was very quiet at night.

Hotels never have enough plugsPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Location is great, staff helpful.
Cons: More outlets in room for power hungry electronics, breakfast included in room rate.
Location: Lots of restaurants in nearby street. Starbucks close for Americans. Parque da Pombal close.
With all the electronics most people travel with (phone, tablet, laptop?, sometimes a CPAP) I need lots of plugs. We were upgraded (thank you!) to a superior room, but could only find two available outlets, one of which was in the bathroom. Had to unplug lamp and clock to plug in CPAP and charge tablet. Phone went in bathroom, wife's phone took other open outlet. We booked using Expedia for this two week trip and noticed that none of the hotels we booked using Expedia included breakfast while all the ones included with tour packages did. Are hotels compensating for lower Expedia prices by making customers pay for breakfast? Something for budget conscious travelers to watch for. By the time you pay 15 Euros for breakfast you have not saved anything.

Comfortable luxurious hotel in a great locationPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Location and comfortable room
Cons: High tech shower was quirky, needed a manual to operate it
Location: Tons of restaurants nearby. Only Starbucks in Lisbon is in walking distance.
Well, we arrived in the middle of Lisbon's picnic on the Avenida Liberdade, and had to walk a ways with suitcases to reach the hotel, but that wasn't their fault. It's a great location for restaurants, sightseeing, and tour pickup.

Great location and very comfortablePosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Location, staff and room comfort.
Cons: Outside space would be good - but difficult to see how that could be achieved given the location of the hotel.
We stayed at the Sofitel in mid-June. The Avenue Liberdade location is great for sight-seeing - we did not need to use the metro at all. The service, food and room were all excellent too, with the very comfortable bed a major plus. Perhaps the only downside is that it feels a little cramped and there is no outside area, but that's the inevitable consequence of a central location. Breakfast was very good but a bit pricey.

Best location in Lisbon, downtown, walking avenue.Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Even they were very busy they use my family name all the time, I appreciated.
Cons: I was very satisfied and I have been staying in many hotels the same class
Location: you could not find a better place to stay in that city
Everything I was expecting and more, staff high qualified, I'll return and recommend to my family and friends.
