Hotel was very nice but have two complaints. The breakfast was only ok. The bacon tray was always empty. Other hotels had much better breakfasts - esp for the price. WIFI reception in the bedroom of our suite was terrible and dropped continuously.

Glad we decided to go for it!
The photos on Hotels.com don't do this property any justice, whilst it looks pleasant enough we booked it expecting it to be a bit dated and for the pool area to pretty much be just a splash pool but were prepared to accept that as it was in an area that we wanted to be near, cleaniness and service is more important than decor and the price was great compared to everything else round about but we were really pleased on arrival as the hotel is lovely! Its a beautiful building, the rooms are huge and the staff were great! Yes it could do with a bit of modernisation, especially the bathroom and the air con but it was clean, comfortable and the pool area is a great wee space to chill out and the breakfast was ideal to set you up for the day. It is located about 30 mins drive to Lisbon city and about 20 mins from the town of Cascais (which is well worth a visit), there are 2 train stations near the hotel which give you access to many of the towns nearby. Would def stay here again if we ever go back to this area of Portugal.

We couldn't believe such a beautiful hotel for the price and its right across from the beach. The grounds are beautiful throughout. The beautiful rooms are spacious and very clean. Guest service desk is 24-hours and continental breakfast. Entered room with a large, well arranged, room-service looking tray. I wish we had time for the spa!

Bit isolated and between a very busy 4 lane highway and rail tracks. A reasonable amount of cafes and restaurants 10 mins walk.

Not very accessible.
Whilst the hotel was comforable, its position right next to an arterial road made it very noisy outside and not very accessible, due to the road being a dual cariageway.

30 yrds away from a duel carriage way in front , 100 yds away from a railway lline behind that starts at 6.00 a.m and finished at 01.00 a.m room was from the 80's.At 5ft 8 I still had to bend down to shower and this was so completely uncomfortable. cupboards were chipped and broken, marble table was cracked completely down the middle and somehow stuck together. Wardrobe doors were off runners and made the loudest noise. everyone in rooms next to us could here, and we could here them Food was awful....I have been on many holidays with Expedia and this is so the worst...I would look at your choice

Our stay at your hotel was a perfect way to end our Portugal vacation. It gave us the opportunity to relax one more night by the ocean and get to the airport easily in the morning. Special thanks to Miles at the front desk!!!

Nice holiday here but a couple of drawbacks.
The hotel is nice and clean and the staff were fine and the beach is close but the dinner (which we only had once) was unbelievably awful - they have never heard of vegetarians and after waiting an hour we got pasta with plain sieved tinned tomatoes on it, no vegetables, herbs, seasoning etc. The other meals, which were meat, also took an hour and were inedible. The poor waiter seemed overworked and frazzled and was doing the whole dining room alone. The continental breakfast the next day was fine though. Odd that dinner was so bad as everything else is really nice. It is quite dated decor etc but clean and comfy and our rooms were big. They have a mini fridge and kitchen cupboards but no sink or cooker so it's a slightly odd set up. There is a supermarket in the village 10m away. The pool is lovely, clean and with a shallow ledge for kids. The hotel is right next to a main road. If you are not driving then the pavement into the village (right) and to the beach (left) are terrifyingly narrow along a dual carriageway road with no railing but if you cross over the road ( there is a green man crossing just outside hotel to the left and opposite the village 10m away on the right) the pavement is wider. Lovely having a beach so close and Cascais station is a ten minute walk. Parents with young children and no car will probably just worry about the road all the time though as there are no railings and they are driving at 60 along there.

The hotel staff from the front desk went out of their way to assist me when my wife became ill and had to be taken to a hospital. The service exhibited by all the hotel staff was amazing

highly recommend it
This hotel is located about 7.5 miles from center of Lisbon, which is about 15 min drive. The hotel is beautiful and just across a drive way from Atlantic ocean. We saw sunset in the morning when we stayed there. And we saw fireworks of Lisbon and other two places over Atlantic Ocean on New Year's eve in the yard. It is in between Lisbon and Sintra, so it is in a perfect location. Hotel has a parking place in the yard, which is very safe. The room is spacious and provides a small refrigerator. Staff are nice. I high recommend this hotel if you have a car.

The outside area has a great view of the sea and very relaxing. It is nearby some good restaurants. Good price. Clean. Hotel staff are friendly. The hotel is near a train track but didn't notice much noise / didn't affect us.

So much potential
If you want an experience that tests your willingness to deal with mediocre, it's the place for you. The restaurant is very expensive for the basics. The rooms have a great layout but are outdated. The highway and train noise is manageable but you need the windows open to air out whatever it is that they use to deodorize the furniture. There is no shuttle to the trains which would definitely be value adding. The older gentlemen at the desk are fine. The older lady made us laugh because she is definitely not customer service material. No one is gregarious. A little love and cheap food and drinks goes a long way Solar Palmerias. It can make people overlook a lot of short comings.

Would never recommend needs conplete overhaul
So dated the sofa in the room had stains and a big hole in it. Mold on the wall and carpet room needed to br totally renovated wifi was ok parking tight but plenty and free dinner in restaurant terrible and overpriced but worst meal ive jad in a long time.

Hotel itself is nice, the breakfast was really poor (cold acrumble eggs, etc...) almost all artificial (yogurt, toppings, etc...), no vegetables, hotel location next to all day overcrowded "highway", possible to walk by narrow street to restaurant area. No possibility to cross the road to the beach. Not worth of 4* review.

Excellent value, on a very nice location
We spent Christmas week in Portugal and rented a suite (2 adults + 2 children). The suite has two very spacious rooms, table area for breakfast, at a price of a regular double room in other hotels in that area of the greater Lisbon. The hotel is not new, and furniture items feel a bit dated, but all the extra space and the gorgeous sea view more than compensate. Having the buffet breakfast facing the sea is a very nice touch. Conveniently located near to of the main roads to Lisbon, he location is also great for someone who wants to explore the city and surroundings based out of a comfortable and quiet location.

The hotel was clean. On one side of the hotel is the highway and on the other side is where the train goes by so it's not the place to be if you want peace and quiet. The staff was very friendly. The buffet breakfast is more or less a continental style breakfast. The restaurant doesn't have much of a food selection of there is a very limited menu available during the day (other than for dinner). Apparently Monday and Tuesday nights, hotel patrons can't use the restaurant (we weren't told ahead of time). The pool is very small. If having a solid WiFi connection is important to you then you will be disappointed. Given its location, you have to took a 5 minute loop around to head towards almost any place you'd be looking to go. We booked on short notice and it was fairly inexpensive so we got what we paid for. If you stay here, I suggest walking 10 minutes down the road to find nice restaurants.

I booked the hotel and went to visit JERONIMO MONASTERY, and Belem Tower, after 3 or 4 hrs we went the hotel, my reservation was ok.. I am very happy with the hotel.. Parking available ... They are in reform , but not terrible for walk or stay..

March - just passing through
We were just passing through so the fact that there is not much nearby was not an issue. Empty in off season (late-March) so got a larger room than was booked. I'd go there again.
