I couldn’t check in. There was an overbooking problem . I was reimbursed about 75% of the amount charged by Expedia at The Hotel . A total mess for a rainy Friday night late check-in . Hope Expedia send me an apology and return my Funds . I was forced to make a new reservation / Check-in at 11:00 pm in other Hotel, obviously make an overseas call to Expedia wasn’t a choice. Terrible

Lovely Guest House
Lovely guest house. Clean, comfortable and a nice pool and shared living space. Very friendly and kind staff. I unfortunately had a stomach bug while staying but everyone was very understanding and took good care of me. Made a poorly day mid-holiday much better than it could have been. Thanks again to all the staff.

This is a lovely hotel. The grounds and pool are beautiful. The service is spectacular. Andrea and the staff were amazingly attentive but never intrusive. Just a delight overall. Would highly recommend the Charm for a stay in beautiful Cascais. One of the highlights of our trip!

The Charm if Cascais is really a Jewel!
Wonderful find in Cascais. Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood and only a few minutes walk to the town or to the local restaurants. Ruy and Susannah are fabulous hosts and the staff are amazing. Food was excellent! Highly recommend!

We stayed at this amazing guesthouse for only 2 nights but wish it could have been longer. The gracious hosts and their staff are so welcoming (as are Ton Ton, Toti and Minie!) and go out of their way to look after your every need, without you needing to ask. Our room was spacious and immaculate with super comfortable beds. Delicious breakfasts with a lovely variety of foods are presented in the elegant dining room. We would highly recommend this most charming guesthouse and hope to go back one day ourselves.

Great stay ,Suzanne charming & very welcoming Breakfast wonderful with lots of choice Wi-fi could have been better Only downside the traditional home cooked meal overpriced for dried bony cod fish , on checkout tried to charge an extra €10 due to be on his new brochure ! Did not take kindly to my refusal to pay more than quoted ! 20 minute walk into pretty Cascais & harbour

Dear Guest Thank you for the 10 out of 10 review but please understand that all cod in Portugal is dried cod , but , nobody cooks it better than the Portuguese . We have more than 1000 receipes . Concerning the price diference between the room leaflet and the up to date restaurant menu , no comments .My mistake because I should have changed also the leaflet . It's done now. If you don’t appreciate attention to detail then this is not the place for you. From the welcome upon entering this gorgeous home. A very pleasant place to stay, Lots of space for relaxing, Excellent breakfasts. Interesting hosts. Very clean. Good staff. Access to the building is up steep steps so not a good option for people with mobility problems. It took a while to learn the ropes, but the ambience wa very laid back and just right for a relaxing break,

A truly special place
Having spent five days in Lisbon we were looking for somewhere with a bit of style nearby in which to chill out and The Charm of Cascais fulfilled our wishes and expectations. The proprietors were solicitous and caring with considerable attention given to every detail. The only issue we had was that the booking details confirmed both a balcony and a pool view when in fact neither was provided. This, our hosts explained was because not all facilities were available with each room. Our advice then would be to check before arrival as to precisely what room will be allocated. This will avoid unnecessary disappointment on arrival. That said you can be assured that the facilities provided will be of the highest standard and the welcome truly warm and special.

Absolutely charming hotel - highly recommend
Beautiful hotel... family run, delicious breakfast free every morning. Hosts are happy to assist with booking tours, etc. Close to many local attractions. Outdoor pool and patio. The only down side was they are very unreasonable about bringing in own food/drinks, etc. Breakfast doesn't start until 9 (which is way too late for anyone wanting to get out early and explore); dinners are only served 3 days a week, and while very good, are very expensive. When we brought in outside drinks and food they were extremely disapproving; also, there is no refrigerator. Overall, though, we really liked it.

This is our business and beside the rooms we do sell very good food and all kind of drinks as you have said .Concerning the price we think that a 3 high quality course dinner for 30 € is a fair price. Beside the 3 days dinner with live music we do serve every day lunches and snacks as you know and also of good quality , but I believe that you havent taste it. Anyway, I understand your coments and I'm sure you understand our reasons. This is not an aparthotel where you would be suposed to cook for yourself , is a boutique establishment . Great choice for a break by the sea near Lisbon
We stayed fro 4 nights in May, we arrived late at night but Ruy kindly organised a car from the airport. The house is beautiful, tastefully decorated and with a lovely garden and pool to relax in. Our family suite was large and comfortable. A great base to explore Lisbon and its surroundings. Recommended. We will visit again.

As the name suggests - very charming!
Lovely stay. The grounds were beautiful and our room was very well decorated with plenty of amenities and lots of nice touches! Notably, the shower was great and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Additionally, the breakfast was amazing and the owners were friendly and helpful. Quiet neighborhood but still conveniently located pretty close to the town - we would recommend for anyone staying in Cascais.

This is a great find!
Awesome! Charm of Cascais is a lovely villa converted to guest house owned and managed by a lovely couple. My husband and I stayed two nights during the week in early Oct. We loved everything about the property: the staff was very nice and always available, the bathrooms (yes, plural) were wonderful....the shower, the towels, even the soap...We loved every minute of our stay. Breakfast was great! (They even brought me gluten free bread.) We highly recommend this property.

A true gem of a B&B
A truly beautiful bed and breakfast. The pool area was amazing and so restful (apart from the inevitable building work noises around about). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hosts could not have been kinder or more helpful. The breakfast was superb.

Just as the title suggests, this residence is charming. Their attention to detail with the décor exquisite. Beautiful house with gracious and incredibly hosts
This is probably the best breakfast buffet in Portugal. Amazing variety. Beautifully presented and considerate. My mum who I was holidaying with is coeliac and so they provided gluten free options which made my mum very happy. Clean,spacious guesthouse. Within close walking distance to some fabulous restaurants and the little town.

Our stay at The Charm of Cascais
We had a fantastic 3 nights at the Charm. The owners were so welcoming & friendly. We really felt as if we were staying with friends! I've never experienced that before. That part of town was the quieter end too. I'm so glad we didn't book something in the centre. Too frenetic for us. This was walking distance. The owners couldn't have been more thoughtful.

A trip down memory lane
We had spent 18 happy months living in the Bairo do Rosario 43 years ago. On deciding to revisit our old haunts, we found the Charm of Cascais and were delighted with our choice of hotel. It's decor was tastefully selected and Ruy, Susana and their staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was a daily treat with a great selection of fresh and home cooked goodies on offer. We look forward to a return visit.

It's like being welcomed into your own family.
This delightful small guest house is luxuriously appointed and it is just like joining a house party for the weekend. The hosts are everyone's favourite uncle and aunt with charm, bonhomie and superb cooking. The breakfast is comprehensive, the rooms spacious and the public areas like the home we would all love to have. Do stay for dinner as the cooking cannot be beaten and you and your fellow guests will be charmingly looked after. Stay here if you can get in!!

Fabulous family break in Cascais
We had a fabulous holiday in Cascais - our hosts Ruy and Susanah were fantastically welcoming to our family, they could not have looked after our family, including 3 children under 11 years old, better. The guest house is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with a great pool and I would highly recommend a trip on the Hippie Chic yacht. The breakfast is astoundingly good as well! The town and beaches are a shortish walk away with a great range of restaurants and shops on offer. Cascais is a wonderful little town and the Charm of Cascais is the jewel in the crown.

Beautiful guesthouse in Cascais, Portugal.
We were welcomed by our gracious host Ruy, and two of his three dogs, and shown to our suite on the first floor, looking West over the beautiful garden and pool. A nice glass of vintage port added to the sense that we were, indeed welcome. This is a large, beautifully appointed house, with several guest suites, a large living room and adjacent dining room. A happy hour From 7.00 to 8.00 included a selection of wines and pate spreads, and the opportunity to meet some of the international guests, as well as Ruy's beautiful wife, Susanna. Breakfast the following morning was outstanding, with every delicacy under the sun, served by the charming Francisca. The hosts are multi-lingual, which made communication amongst the group of French, German and English a most interesting hour. Overall, these were two of the best nights accommodations we have ever had, either in hotels, flats or guest houses, and we would highly recommend Charm of Cascais. The Oliver's, B.C, Canada.

lovely house.
This is a beautiful home, very clean. The room has little extras like bath robes and quality shower gel/ body lotion. Pool towels and beach towels are provided so no need to take your own. The pool area is lovely and enough beds/ chairs for everyone. The breakfast choice is plentiful and delicious and constantly topped up. Susannah the hostess is lovely , giving tips and advice of where to go and what to do. We didn't have a car and found this a little further to walk than we imagined so a lift to town after breakfast was a gift.Taxis cost around 5-6 euros. The walk is a brisk 20 mins. We missed tea/ coffee facilities in our room especially 1st thing in the morning. We booked a poolside view room but got a roadside view which was quiet over the weekend but noisy very early weekdays.

The name says it all
It really is a charming place and the hosts also were very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely choose to stay here again. There is a wonderful swimming pool, breakfasts were more than sufficient, wi-fi worked well everywhere. Just a bit far out of town (28 minutes walk) and no on-site parking.
