Not a 5 star; possibly a 4 starPosted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: The location was decent and the rooms were quiet. The breakfast was decent and was included in my room rate.
Cons: The hot water was scalding and you either got a scalding shower or a cold shower. The faucet from the sink would spray all over the place.
Location: The location is good. It seems to be in a safe place. Most things are in walking distance. If you are looking for a party place, this is not the place
The front desk staff was very nice and tried to be helpful but most of their English was not great and I was given some misinformation regarding trains and if I didn't look in to it myself I likely would have been at the wrong train station. The spa was nice but one of the Jacuzzi options did not work and no one on staff even tested it for several days. One other Jacuzzi option they said worked but it did nothing. Some of the motion lights by the showers were also not working. The breakfast was good but the service was not. The eggs are very runny. I had dinner there only one time and for a simple order it got screwed up and took an extremely long time to get it. They did offer me a free glass of wine. After dinner, no one came with the check so I had to go to the bar to ask for it. The rooms were okay. My first room was very big and nice and when I came back several days later I was given a tiny room. The faucets at this hotel are awful and the hot water is scalding.

Brilliant hotelPosted Nov 16, 2013
Pros: It is just really good overall
Location: Great little parks, cafes, the botanical gardens and so on very close by. Also walking distance to the river front, the mall, and other attractions
The Hotel Vintage Lisboa is definitely a keeper. Wonderful, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff were very kind and helpful as well. I think it is one of my best hotel experiences that I have had in travels to more than 40 countries. The location is also great - walking distance to everywhere.

Budget 5 star hotelPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Exterior and the fact it is a cheap hotel in the Expedia 5 star category.
Cons: Everything mentioned above.
Location: Close to Metro station. Quiet leafy area.
Exterior and tiny lobby appearance as any small 5 star hotel but lift to floors is like a service lift and not very inviting! Standard room had a nice tree top view out of window and nice furnishings but that's about it. Bed was not very long so not suitable for persons longer than 1.85m. The room had the stupidest bathroom I have ever encountered with a separate toilet door (made of glass) which opened towards the facing wall, a separate shower room that could fit 10 people and with lots of sharp tile edges, an emergency switch where the bathroom lights should be (the bathroom lights were situated by the main door some distance from the bathroom). The sink was located outside the bathroom area and there was a gap between the wall next to the bed (pillow side) and the glass toilet door so when visiting the toilet at night one illuminates the other occupant sleeping in the bed. Breakfast was edible but range not 5 star hotel standard - recommend going to a outside coffee shop instead. There is no concierge and the receptionist was limited in essential local information such as coffee shop and decent local restaurants. Bring a guide book if Lisbon is your first visit.

Small hotel with SpaPosted Sep 9, 2013
We loved everything about the hotel but particularly loved our time spent in the Spa which we had to ourselves most of the time. The staff at reception were outstanding in their helpfulness and the room had all the facilities that we needed

Great hotel!Posted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: The indoor pool, steam bath and sauna. The room, the bed and pillows.
Location: Close to everything.
Great location. Walking distance to main attractions. On a steep hill so if you have issues with that, not the best place for you although most of this city is on hills. Beautiful hotel. Most comfortable of our stay in Portugal.

Excellent Modern HotelPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
great Hotel, recently renovated building. The room was large, clean and modern. Staff were friendly. The hotel restaurant food was outstanding and the rooftop bar had great views across the whole of lisbon. Pool was clean (but a little too warm). The only negative is that Lisbon is hilly and this hotel was high up, and its about 20mins walk to the city centre. Recommended to catch a taxi back up to the hotel.

WelcomingPosted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Staff, room, and value of the room.
Location: Well, for sure it is on a hill. Even so, it is located near Avenida Liberdade which has a charming 'rambla' as well as lots of restaurants and cafes.
This is a very welcoming hotel. The staff were professional, friendly, helpful, and polite. They put there heart & soul to welcome a guest. I could tell they liked their jobs very much. They were knowledgeable about Lisbon and were gently excited to relay the city's tourist attractions and history. The room itself was pleasant ... and the pillows were just unbelievably comfortable. Downstairs there is a small restaurant, lending for a cozy enviornment. It did, however, have a huge television screen, but that was alright. The food, though, is very good. One thing for sure, though, the hotel is located on a hill, but if you are up (or down) for the challenge, you are in a great neighborhood- -and quite close to the main boulevard (Avenida da Liberdade). From there, you can go downtown (literally down-to-the-town). All in all, quite a welcoming hotel experience.

Wonderful hotel. Good location. Will recommend!!Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: location and the comfort, the breakfast, the spa if it had been open!
Cons: Have the spa open and more helpful main desk people. They were nice in general but at times they weren't as forthcoming with information.
Location: Every thing is near. Just look at the map closely!
The hotel was wonderful, the only negative is that the spa was closed due to renovations!

The Stars Do not Align!Posted Jun 21, 2013
Pros: View from our balcony
Cons: Lack of attention to detail
Location: Good location
The hotel does not meet the level of a five star hotel. Initially we were given a room that was in need of much renovation. Keeping the blinds closed, when we entered, was a feeble attempt to cover up the very real problems. Upon expressing our displeasure we were moved to a very nice suite, however, even this had deficiencies (pillow cases that were ripped, no Kleenex ,writing instruments nor instructions for the coffee maker). We had to ask to have our balcony door unlocked. We attempted to have lunch in the main dining room but were offered unappealing outdoor spaces or the upstairs bar due to the fact there was a convention. The staff were mostly pleasant however lack some training. This might be due to the lack of attention to detail and precision by management.
