We changed rooms 3 times in 3 nights due to rats and mice. It's an older hotel with character, but we did not expect that. We took photos of the vermin.The staff were very friendly and helpful for the most part, but there was no apologies or offers to upgrade for the fourth room. In each of the three rooms we ended up in, NONE of the safes actually worked. Even the staff were unable to operate them. There is a shortage of power points in an older place like this,so you need a power board. The hotels ones did not work. Mould etc in all bathrooms, one tiny bar of soap provided for 6 night stay....no refills.

This hotel has to be viewed in the context that it is two stars. In addition, on the days that I stayed the prices were inflated due to a large music event in the city. Overall it's safe, clean and fine for a few days stay. The staff are friendly. The place is old and a bit quirky, within the "little India" district. It is seconds from Rochor MRT and many restaurants - of course they are mostly Indian cuisine. There's a Starbucks about 5 mins away. The beds are not very comfortable but adequate. The rooms are pretty old and only a couple of channels on old TV. Wifi is ok (don't forget a VPN). Ask for a room away from Perak Street and on the top floor to avoid street noise and from wood floors in rooms above.

Great property in the heart of Little India. Close to numerous restaurants. Good breakfast each day and staff were fantastic in exceptionally trying times. This was our second stay at the property and did not let us down. The staff did everything to assist. Also a surprise was a laundromat straight over the road. The MRT (Train) is only 100 metres away. Will go back here again.

I hardly slept because of the noise. Also, the rooms are super basic, not clean, don’t come with normal blankets (and the super thin blankets they did provide had a few holes in it), the WiFi is terrible, etc. The staff is nice but I would never stay here again or recommend anyone to stay here

Hotel Perak has an old world charm. I loved the hotel! It has nice quiet nooks that one can relax in. The rooms are soundproof, so I can relax in my room peacefully. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is near an MRT station (Rochor Station). Also, there are many eating places around the hotel. The area is nice, clean, and peaceful. I highly recommend Perak Hotel.

Small hotel with small old rooms, in a noisy part of town. Tiny shower room, dated and needs modernising throughout, hard beds, limited breakfast choice. Was just uncomfortable. On arrival I was given a room with two tiny single beds despite having booked a double bed several weeks prior to arriving. The beds were not even long enough to sleep on, more like childrens beds. When I pointed this out, I was told to place the two beds together and to sleep across them; ridiculous. Then told that an email had been sent out to advise me that a double bed was not available, none was ever received. After a lot of argueing with the reception and asking to see the manger I was given what was supposed to be a "Free Upgrade" to a deluxe double room, which was very small with a rock hard and still quiet small double bed, and tiny shower room. Will not be staying here ever again. It's a run down old place that is in need of full modernisation and refurbishment. All the furniture is dated and old, breakfast is very limited, and I wouldn't rate this place above a bad 2-Star hotel.

The reception staff are not organized and rather confusing when our group of 9 arrived for six rooms. This is not a boutique hotel and it is crummy. The only good thing is that it is well located.

Hotel exudes a colonial theme. Red floor tiles, solid wood furnitures. Library and sotting common area. Nice to relax and read/ browse internet. Room is clean, comfortable. TV program unexciting. Didnt watch. However bathroom at times give bad odor ( improvement opportunity) Breakfast not luxurious however ample. Just like home. Staff are friendly. Overall not luxurious but cozy and homely. Rochor MRT station just across the road. 24 hr indian muslim restaurants/ 7 E near hotel. Will stay again.

Location is Fabulous
We stayed 8 nights in superior room on top floor including minibar snacks & softdrink (not beer). Room is compact but this is Singapore & for the price it can't be beat! There is a lift if needed but we used the stairs. Breakfast has all you need to start the day: fruit, toast, cooked & tea coffee etc. MRT easy to use & just steps away Rochor station. We picked up Ezylink card at Changi & put $20.00 on it & still some left at end of week but lasts for 5 years. Used it from airport to Jalan Besar MRT then short walk to Perak. Staff v helpful & friendly. Fabulous Indian places to eat & drink next door open 24 hrs. Try the ginger tea or Tip Top for biryani. Nice quiet spot but full of charm & atmosphere. Money changer on Serangoon Rd near Tekka Centre had same rates as shown on XE.com

whats great is the location, about less than a minute from the Metro , so even with luggage, its very easy , the staff is excellent, helpful, and the area is very indian , good food around , overall good, except that its a slightly old fashioned hotel and not a modern business hotel, but comfortable ,

Fantastic location!
Perak is a comfortable, older style hotel/guesthouse in a fantastic location with a great breakfast included in the price. The local area of Little India is a bustling hub of local traders and eateries but the hotel is situated in a quiet street. It is really close to a metro stop and an easy walk to the downtown and bay area.

Great location, excellent value, wonderful staff!
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, were upgraded from a standard room to nicer room. The location is outstanding! Right in Little India down the street from a MRT station. The room was clean and very comfortable. Great bed with double cushions, air con, fridge, water kettle, plenty of shelf space to put luggage and even lighting in the closet and bedside reading lamps. There was a fully stocked mini fridge. Staff was very helpful, super efficient and friendly. Overall I found Perak Hotel a really great value for Singapore and I would recommend it and stay there again myself. There is wonderful Indian resturants that are inexpensive right outside, bars, and a store open 24 hours for snack and drink, etc.
