“An Unbelievable Mess”
Our experience started with our arrival at 3am to an uneventful check in. The hotel is in a decent location and close to a few eateries. That was the highlight. Our kids play travel ball so we've traveled many hotels many different states and brands and this was by far the worst ever. The room was filthy and when we reported it they indicated they would clean it. When we returned to the room, not only was one of the beds not made, the towels were thrown in the bathroom and the floor wasn't cleaned and it appeared it hadn't been cleaned for months. I told my kids to keep their shoes on not to even walk around in their socks because I wasn’t sure what was on the floor. We did check the beds and it didn’t appear there were any bedbugs. Thank goodness. It gets worse, there were guests in the hall way at 2:30am intoxicated, banging on several doors, screaming obscenities that are too awful to even repeat in text. I’m an adult and I was offended by what the gentleman was suggesting. I had my two teenagers and as my husband was approaching the door, I was just praying they were too tired to wake up to hear the verbiage. I didn’t eat breakfast but the girls indicated it was just OK. We had an uneventful check-out as we were quickly trying as fast as possible to get away. We’ve stayed at a LaQuinta before but after this experience, I don’t believe it will be an option again.
“Aging Hotel in Need of Attention”
While the people there were kind and friendly folks, the hotel itself is past its prime. Obviously upkeep has not been a priority over the years. For example, the carpets are stained, the refrigerators have been taken out of the rooms (while the cabinets they used to be in remain), and the vending machines are few and far between. It's too bad because this hotel was built to be high-end. There were things that we liked: the free shuttle van to places within 2 miles (which was helpful since the hotel isn't near the riverfront area), the free wi-fi, and the fact that the people who stayed there weren't all rich and Caucasian (like you see as you pass the Peabody and The Capital Hotels). The area surrounding the hotel is a bit run-down too.
“NOT SAFE!”
Several bad things have happened at this hotel. My friends in town were horrified that I stayed there with my children. It was LOUD, NOT clean and I had NO HOT WATER.
“Friendly staff!”
The staff was great and they take obvious pride in maintaining the facility. The hotel appears to be a focal point of traveling groups and we saw buses come in and out every day. Though we were there several night, the busload of teenagers were polite and quiet. The free parking garage was also a great convenience.
“great place to stay”
great place to stay--nice atmosphere, friendly staff, outstanding free breakfast, easy short distance to Robinson Center with shuttle van service--I highly recomend this hotel
“sunday night @ the la quinta”
stayed there because my new apartment was not ready for inhabitation. thought the price was sufficient under the circumstances. wish i could have saved more money. roo was pleasant and well-apointed. some guest or hotel staff roamed the hallways all during the night causing me a restless sleep. i heard telephones ringing in the adjacent rooms - not very peaceful.
“felt like a new hotel. Would return again.”
No complaints at all. I was very satisfied with everything.

“You Get What You Pay For”
Staff was friendly. Room was nice except for a lot of dust in the sink. Printer in the business center did not work, so I had to get to the airport early in order to get my boarding pass. I accidentally left a pair of white gold and diamond earrings in the bathroom. Of course, they were not turned in by housekeeping and I felt that little effort was made to look for them. I called three times and got the run-around. The fault lies with me for leaving them there, but I would like to have felt that some effort was made to help me. Breakfast buffet was nice. Overall, a good place to stay for the price.
“lil rock”
