Fint ophold.,

Pros: den engelske stil
Location: Perfekt beliggenhed, lige i hjertet af Liverpool og let at komme til seværdighederne og Anfield Road (med bus 26)
Hotellet er gammelt men hyggeligt. Det fungerede fint og værelserne var store og de fungerede godt. Der er en PUB i kælderen så det var let at få en " afternoon drink" sammen med englænderne. Der var ikke larm på værelserne

Room stank of smoke and given two double beds when booked non smoking and double bed. Room was tired and outdated and needed a good clean

Pros: The outside
Cons: Everything
Location: Close to university and city center amenities
The building is grand, but the decor very dated and grubby. The carpets and banisters in public areas are filthy. The shower in my room did not work and even after moving room there were a number of occasions when the water was off preventing even flushing the loo. Even replenishing the tea/coffee in the room is a bit hit and miss. Thankfully the bed linen was clean although the bed and pillows were poor.

A disappointment

fabulous architecture from the outside and the grandeur of the communal spaces was great. what disappointed me was the cleanliness of the hotel in general and the rooms. The stair carpet needed hoovering and over the five days I was there this wasn't addressed. the room, although dated has all the right furniture but the cleanliness and dust disappointed me. There was dust on the window sill ands on the carpets behind all the chairs. the chambermaids didn't offer a good service at all as there were dirty cups left in the rooms each day and the tea tray wasn't replenished. The bathroom wasn't cleaned each day and the general state of the bathroom furniture left a lot to be desired. I can understand the furniture and decor being a little dated and tired in certain areas of the hotel but basic cleanliness and service should be maintained.

Unpleasant stay

Hotel need a whole revamp felt like I was in a 1970 sitcom windows were very dirty and bed valance filthy dragging on the floor if it had a revamp I would go back as location was the best thing about it

The hotel is showing its age in places. It is good value for money.The breakfasts are first class and all the staff I encountered were very helpful I will definitely stay there again

Pros: Cheap
Hotel needs to update guest information. Went to use the Health Club at 8.15pm to be told they were closing at 9pm, and had done for the last 12 months. Guest information sheet in room, says the Health Club closes at 10pm, consequently unable to use it as last admission is 1 hour before closing.

Pros: Pretty much nothing.
Cons: Sack all the staff and demolish the hotel.
Location: Lots of drunks and drug addics literally on the door step. Good for people who enjoy charitable giving to addicts.
Poor staff. They just complained about the owners.
