“GREAT TO STAY OVERNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!”

I decided to stay at Southport ahead of Liverpool v Fiorentina match in the Champions League. Accommodations within Liverpool city centre are limited and expensive so that's why I decided to stay away from Liverpool. Well... price was reasonable and quality of this guest house was FANTASTIC! I think I better stay here when I watch Liverpool's midweek games!

“One night stay”

I was very satisfied with all aspects of this long established guest house.The proprietor was very helpful.Breakfast was very good with a personal touch.Very good value for money.I wish that I could have stayed longer than the one night.

“Definitely the place to stay”

Made to feel very welcome on arrival. We were given a choice of rooms each of which was well decorated and furnished. Tea, coffee and biscuit selection in room was excellent. Choice of breakfast menu was a definite plus as was all the matching china on which breakfast was served. Off road parking space available. Would definitely book this guest house again on our future visits to Southport. Overall an extremely pleasant stay.

“Great value B&B”

very friendly and helpful owner added those special little touches to make our stay great. Convienient location right near all shops and bars and restaurants in the town centre, but far away enough so no noise! also just short walk to pier and marina.

“Very Surprised, Surpassed my expectations!”

This was one of the cheaper rooms available and I was not expecting much. The owner was very accomidating and welcoming, the room & amenties were clean and tidy. Made my trip!

“Good experience”

My wife and I were very impressed with this guest house. All the furnishings are of an 'old-fashioned' style and our room was clean and comfortable. We were made very welcome by the owner. She is a very polite lady, who found time to have a chat with us before we left. The Full English breakfast was excellent. There is parking for 5-6 cars on the forecourt. Carlton Lodge is about 5 mins walk away from Southport Theatre and similar to the main shopping area (Lord Street). On this occasion, we only stayed for one night, but would definitely stay at the Carlton Lodge again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

“Fabulous breakfast!”

Christine (proprietor) was very friendly & helpful,insisting upon carrying my suitcase up several flights of stairs to my room, which turned out to be cosy & nicely decorated. Breakfast was freshly cooked to perfection & more than generous - cereal, 'Full English', toast & a big cafetiere of coffee! Very good value for money!

“A convenient and well run place”

We arrived on ahot afternoon and were greeted with great curtesy. Although the rooms were small they were well equipped and the breakfast was wonderful. A good location for Lord Street and the prom.

“A lovely B&B, but a few problems”

The owner was really friendly & welcoming. The room features such as wifi, flat screen tv, tea tray etc were to a very high standard. Breakfast was excellent, there is a great menu and food is freshly cooked to order. Free parking is also available. Our only issues were that we were on the ground floor with patio doors and because of this the room was freezing. The heating in the room went off at night and we were so cold we kept waking up. In the morning as the room was next to the dining room we had people clomping up and down the stairs and backwards and forwards across the floor. It was really loud so there was no chance of a lay in (even if we had been asleep). Don't get me wrong though, this really is a great B&B but just avoid having room 12 on the ground floor, ask for another room!

“Carlton Lodge”

I truly enjoyed my stay. The proprietor was efficient and friendly. She went out of her way to help. She gave me a marvelous breakfast which she packed for me to take away.
