You get what you pay forPosted Nov 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Marlborough is an inexpensive out of the way place to lay down for a few hours. That's it. Dont expect a private bathroom, or soap, or shampoo, or an adult sized towel. Don't expect peace and quiet at any time of the night. Do expect to hear every television, conversation, and snoring from every other room. Try not to book any room near the huge front door that seems to slam every half an hour. There is no bar as advertised and if you have to walk to get food or water good luck. Its about 5 dark and dilapidated blocks down the street. The hotel manager ( Mohamed ) was friendly but the place is one step away from being a hostel. Again, you get what you pay for!

The hotel was easy to find and the rooms were comfortable but noisy due to late night revellers returning to their rooms at 4am

Where's the service.....Posted Sep 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel situated 20mins drive from Liverpool Central and its easily excess. Its have a parking lots at the back and the surrounding neighbours is not noisy. Hotel service could be improve and the breakfast was like a .....i don't know what to describe...only a cereals and a jug of orange juice was on the counter. The rest of the menu u have to make an order....my room was not clean and at least i expect a clean towel if they doesn't want to clean the room. But overall, I'll give a 4 / 10 ....its because.of the price n the location.

Location: Great Location, not far from Liverpool City Centre and very close to Aintree Racecourse.
Decor wasn't the best and could do with a few diy improvements but on the whole was very clean, staff were really nice and it's in a great location.

Quiet LocationPosted Apr 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
I did a bit of research before I arrived at the hotel, so I roughly knew what to expect. On trying my television & kettle I found that both were not working & after asking for this to be fixed 3 times they were still not replaced or put back in working order. The owner of the property said to me that he knew my television was not working, so why did he not do anything about it? My friends shower was not working either, and it was still not resolved when we left. He used my shower once & on using the one in the room next to him it caused water to run down my bedroom wall (I was below him). A real shambles. The staff were friendly though, but were lacking in motivation to put things right. I will not be back......

cheap & cheerfulPosted Apr 8, 2013
Cons: Freezing cold bathroom no heating in it & a horrible smell in it that was like a damp smell. Central heating not on at all any time of day or night
Location: on busy main rd but not too noisy except for ambulances very frequently
Easy to find as on main road, outside needs some tlc. Inside worn carpets on stairs. Room right on top of flight of stairs so not very family friendly. Central heating not working or switched on at all throughout two night stay. Room cold bathroom even colder with no heating at all in it. Small oil filled heater in room but not switched on when we got there so a cold start to our evening. Very noisy when people come home late at night as stairs right out side room. Breakfast served downstairs on lower floor down three flights or more from first floor rooms no lift.
