Good location, expensive add-ons

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Clean and friendly. Centrally located.
Cons: Cut the "extras", no free wi-fi give me a break!!!!!
Location: Centrally located, close to shopping, museums and dining.
Nice and clean, central to shopping and dining. For the price of the rooms I find it amazing to have to pay for wi-fi in your room. Breakfast at 14.00 pounds! Really? Marriott UK should look at their US counterparts.

Great hotel, everything you would expect!

Everything you'd expect from a Marriott - clean and comfortable, polite and helpful staff, decent food. 2 minute walk from the station - ideal location!

tired and stuck in the 70s

Posted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Well located once you work how to get there! and apart from the noice from the clubs. But this hotel is soooo tired. clean and neat but dreadful for a Marriott. No personality, carpet and furniture has not been updated since 1970. Pillows towels etc were not up to Marriott standards.

Shabby room - different from one booked.

Posted May 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
Had we known we would be allocated such a disappointing room we would have chosen a different hotel. The room was not as described nor did it match the picture on the booking form. There was no promised garden view, no pillow menu, no sofa bed. The picture shows cheerful room with a bed made with bright cushions and a matching bedrunner - our bed did not have these. All we could see from the high window were roof tops and tree tops. The room was best described as 'tired' and the net curtains were grey. The furniture had seen better days. When we pointed out the differences to the receptionist she was dismissive and blamed Hotels.com for describing the room incorrectly. However the description on the hotel's own website matches that of the one on Hotels.com.
