Lovely roomPosted Oct 25, 2014
I loved how big and comtable the room was apart from being to hear the outside traffic that was the biggest problem sounded as though the traffic was in the room. The decor and space was Beautiful

Do not stay here!Posted Oct 20, 2014
Terrible stay! Paint fumes were very bad asked to move to another room which was worse and finally was moved to another room which stunk of sewidge and the window wouldn't open, curtains hanging off, beds sink in the middle and pillows like rocks! This is not a 4star more like 2!

Great hotel for attractions and UniversityPosted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Lovely old Edwarian building.
Cons: Instructions on how to use the shower..... or note to say it could take a while for the hot water to come through.
Location: Albert Docks. Shops and University all within walking distance
Arrived very late but porter was there and was helpful about telling us where to park which was the Anglican Cathedral at the end of the road. £6 for 24 hours..... great as we would be able to walk around the city for the next day to see the university and city itself. Room was great but I had problems with the shower.... I thought it wasnt working but my son got it to work (too late for me unfortunately). So not sure where the problem was but would say it certainly ran cold for a long time. For what we needed, and with a separate room for me and my 17 year old son, and for the price we paid was fab. It was only after reading the freeby Lancashire magazine did we learn that Rodney Street was supposed to be the most haunted street in the world!

A hidden gemPosted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Style and comfort
Cons: Little bit shabby but that goes with the old fashioned style
Location: Between the two cathedrals, handy for Royal Liverpool Hospital, universities, Philharmonic, within walking distance of Liverpool One and Waterfront
Booked this hotel about half an hour before arriving quite late and couldn't believe it - in terms of style it's like Downton Abbey in the middle of Liverpool! Very comfortable bed, huge room and en suite bathroom, although room facilities basic, but extremely good value for money and I will certainly book again when I'm back in the city.

Shabby hotel at great location.Posted Sep 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had two nights in the basement of the hotel. Really in the basement, walking downstairs from the street, trough a cellar corridor to the room (G3).The reception and room smelled of paint, the beds were ok, and the room clean, but the apparent newly refurbished room had all the signs of amateur work, and total lack of finish. We did not receive any information from the staff while arriving, other than the code required to enter the cellar. Sleeping and using the bathroom was the only thing we did at the hotel. The location was in walking distance of all our needs, and the price was fair. Not a family hotel, but OK for a weekend.

Great for quick stay in LiverpoolPosted Sep 10, 2014
I landed in early on Sunday morning with no sleep from travelling the night before the girls did my room up as soon as the others checked out and was able to get my head down for a few hours . Really appreciated it . Also the gent on reception looked up buses for me for interview I had outside city and dropped up the print out . Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely recommend it to others wanting to stay in close proximity to Liverpool city centre .

Cheap & cheerfulPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Cheap for 1 night break, though would not have wanted to stay any longer.
Cons: Overall decoration and heating.
Location: Location, 5-10 minutes walk from Albert Dock, Liverpool wheel and city centre. Located almost within the Chinese quarter of the city.
Booked family room through Expedia for £49 room only last minute for same night, checked website price which showed as £315 and 4 star, which it clearly isn't! To be fair, had we paid much more, I would have been disappointed, however, for the price the room was large, clean and the 2 double beds were comfortable enough. There was a large sofa and desk also in the room and a small kitchen with cooker, fridge, cutlery and crockery which we were not expecting. The room, and in fact the building could do with some decoration, but for the price paid, this was not an issue. The shower was very slow, only slightly faster than a trickle, though was warm enough and I did eventually manage to get my hair washed! The room was a little cold, with only a small electric fire to provide heat. The parking is not free, you need to pay £6 along the road at the Cathedral.
