Great location, friendly staffPosted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: The gardens and water views.
Cons: The rooms could do with a little refresh - still very comfortable, but looking a bit worn in places.
Location: So convenient for visiting the falls and for walking across to Zimbabwe. Convenient for all activities.
Beautiful location for visiting Victoria Falls. The hotel has a lovely peaceful ambience with water views. Staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Rooms could do with a bit of a refresh, but nothing to make the stay unpleasant.

Luxury and comfortPosted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: Right on river, can see smoke from falls. Peaceful, beautiful setting. Very quiet accomldation.
Only had 24 hours in vic falls, they organised everything to perfection. On arrival they booked us straight in for every activity we wanted to do, and moved us seamlessly between them. Private entrance to falls was cherry on the cake.

Beautifully managed hotel right by the fallsPosted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: Stunning location on the Zambezi next to the falls, beautiful indigenous gardens, calm atmosphere even with tour groups arriving. Feels very special.
Location: Victoria Falls is a short walk away. Lots of activities are also possible on the river (sedate to activity sports). It's a short drive into town
We couldn't fault this hotel. You can sit on a "classical" verandah and watch the falls within manicured gardens. Service is impeccable, friendly and efficient. Our room was beautifully appointed and we certainly felt pampered We used this hotel for a few nights after a long road trip through the Caprivi so this was just the thing. The hotel is literally at the falls so you can just walk around to them (and they have an arrangement so you can visit the site for free). The hotel works to give a touch of the old colonial atmosphere (it isn't an old hotel of course) - but somehow they pull it off - the public spaces are elegant and quiet. The restaurant has a dress code (not too demanding - no shorts and Tshirts...) but this slight formality doesn't make things stuffy. Overall we enjoyed a few days to relax and use the facilities

Faultless!Posted Nov 24, 2014
This really is a 5 Star experience. The quality of the service, accommodation and amenities cannot be bettered in the area. The riverside terrace view is extraordinary and the animals that wander the grounds add to the ambience. Will definitely visit again!

Top of the line hotel with a viewPosted Sep 2, 2014
Our time at the Royal Livingston was fantastic - definitely one of the best hotels near Victoria Falls. Great view, old world charm and walking distance to the falls. Only downside was occasionally slow service at the bar and restaurant, but the rooms were comfortable and well kept and the staff were exceedingly friendly.

Once in a lifetimePosted May 28, 2012
Pros: High tea, sundowners on the deck overlooking the cusp of the falls, rolling lawns dotted with zebra, giraffe and impala
Location: Breathtaking proximity to the Smoke that Thunders
Travel back in time with impeccable service in vintage colonial surrounds, all within reach of the roar and spray of the mighty Zambezi as is spills over the Falls. This and sundowners on the deck make for a once in a lifetime experience.
