“Clean, effective and overall good hotel”
The Grand Hotel Union Business is a good and clean hotel at a great location. The internet service (free) is very good, both with respect to availability and bandwidth - and the breakfast is very good.
“Great hotel, best location in Ljubljana”
Although an older hotel (one part was built in 1903 and the newer part in the 1960s or 1970s), the hotel has done a brillant job of converting an communist style building into a modern and comfortable hotel. The rooms are minimalist but have all the amenities. The hotel staff is amazingly knowledgeable and helpful. Plus, the hotel is just steps from the main attractions of the city. You couldn't find a better location.
“Location and value”
The Grand Union Business (formerly a Holiday Inn) has recently been renovated. Rooms are reasonably sized and comortable. The free breakfast is, in general standard for hotels in Ljubljana. What is best about this hotel is location. Virtually anything you would want to see in the downtown and old town area of Ljubljana is within walking distance, which is good since most of the streets near the river are closed to traffic. Ljubljana is still a reasonably undiscovered gem and a delight to visit. While one could argue (particularly given its history as a Holiday Inn) whether this a 4 star property, there is no question that this is one of the handfull of very good to excellent hotels in the Ljubljana. Most of the staff speaks English and they were very responsive to my needs (e.g., needed an iron and ironing board and had to book onto their airport shuttle at the last minute). I can see many reasons to recommend this property and few reason not to stay here. Book with confidence and enjoy your stay.
“Great location in city”
Extremely happy with experience at hotel. We were in Ljubljana to meet a tour group and then a week later came back to spend a night at the hotel. The staff was great about keeping one piece of our luggage in storage for the week. Hotel is one block from river, shops, restaurants. Very professional staff. Good (with lots of variety) buffet breakfast.
“excellent place to stay”
the hotel is clean and friendly with a very good restaurant and very nice facilities. it's proximity to the 3 bridges area is a definite advantage.
