Luxury hotel close to old town and CastlePosted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Comfort, food and very polite and efficient staff.
Location: A few minutes walk from the main attractions of the city. The triple bridge, the old town and the Castle.
On arriving at the hotel our cases were immediately taken from the taxi into the reception area. Although only booking a superior bedroom we were upgraded to a very large extremely comfortable suite. I am particularly fussy about hotel breakfasts but this was outstanding in both the choice and quality of food. On checking out the taxi that we had booked to take us to lake bled was late and reception offered to ring the company to find out the reason for the delay and quickly resolved the matter. Altogether an extremely pleasant stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

excellent stop overPosted Aug 26, 2014
We had one evening only in the city and were very pleased to find this hotel right in the centre of town. We had lovely views across the rooftops from our 8th floor rooms and the rooms themselves were spacious and very clean. After a good night's sleep and an excellent breakfast we were sad to pack up and move on.

1 block from the 3 bridgesPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: luxury, comfort, location, breakfast
Cons: Wish parking could be more reasonable
Location: Ljubljana is a fantastic destination with tons of character and very chilled and friendly people.
Lovely room with tons of space. Hotel 1 block from the city's center with tons of cafes/bars and restaurants within short walking distance. Wonderful breakfast. Let us have a late checkout. Parking was expensive, 17 Euros/day

Great Hotel right in the center of townPosted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Safe, friendly, clean and polite. Good breakfast and drinkable coffee.
Cons: A little more tourist information in the lobbey and a book exchange shelf.
Location: The Castle, The museums, the river, The catheridal, The Zoo, Trivoli Park. Al that Lubijana has to offer.
The hotel was lovely, Art deco on the out side (The tourist made has the street make as Art Deco street) but modern inside. Big rooms, good beds, good bath and shower. The whole place was clean and neat. The staff where polite and helpful. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. The coffee was good. The hotel is right in the center of Lubijana, not more then 20 minutes on foot from any major attraction, except the zoo. In most cases not more than 5 minutes. I would have like slightly more tourist information in the hotel reception, but i get that it is more a buseness hotel.

Location, location, locationPosted Jul 27, 2014
While the hotel itself is very nice, the location makes it perfect for a visit to Ljubljana. My wife and I spent a three night weekend here in mid July. The hotel was an easy walk from the train/bus station and located right in the middle of the old town. Rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfasts had something for everyone. I'm not in to cold fish in the morning but, whatever, it was available. The eggs, bacon, yogurt and pastries were more to my tastes. All of the facilities, rooms, bar, public spaces were spotlessly clean. The front desk staff were most helpful and friendly, quick with a recommendation or to offer assistance. Like everyone we dealt with in Ljubljana, communicating in English was not a problem. Sad that we have to count on that as Americans but my Slovenian vocabulary is sorely lacking. Back to the location, the hotel is just a few steps from Prešeren Square, the main square and the Triple Bridge over the Ljubljanica river. The riverside is lined with cafes, restaurants and bars. Most everything a tourist will want to see on a short visit is within an easy walk of the hotel. This is a beautiful city that has yet to become overrun with tourists. I would highly recommend a visit and at stay at the Grand Union Hotel when you do so.

great location, great breakfastPosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: location, friendly staff, elegant interior design, Breakfast!
Cons: fitness room
Location: walking distance to triple bridge, train to castle hill, many stores, restaurants, market along the river, outdoor squares and spaces are lovely
we loved the location, close to everything, easy walking distances. We appreciated the good breakfast. The gym's bicycle didn't work, which was a little disappointing. Overall, a great stay!

Comfort & LocationPosted Jul 21, 2014
Cons: Include parking, 17 euro is too high.
Location: Boat tours are a steal. The castle is ok. Going back I would spend more time in the shops below the castle. Most are closed on Sunday.
What you get for the money. Perfect location steps from the triple bridge. Comfortable room with fast internet and chilly A/C. Breakfast is ample and varied. Wonderful staff.
