A popular pub/hotel close to Llangollen - 5 minsPosted Jun 25, 2014
The hotel is nice - but that's really all you can say! It's quite dated and our room had no shower, only a bath & a plastic jug to wash my hair with!! But saying that, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean & tidy, just a bit in need of an update decor wise. It was also very hot, but that could have just been the weather it was very warm. The breakfast was lovely and served promptly and piping hot. The staff were all friendly and polite, the whole place just lacked a bit of atmosphere. Not sure how that could be remedied though! Getting wifi that works and can be accessed by all guests at all times would be a big bonus & possibly a TV in the bar? We had a pleasant stay though and would stay there again & recommend it to friends.

The hotel is in a nice area of Llangollen with nicPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Only the location
Cons: For a start access to the internet , showers put in each room and for the hotel to be generally updated. It is very tired looking.
Location: There is a fantastic pub in the town called The Corn Mill which is outstanding and has a fabulous atmosphere.
We asked for a shower in our room and we got a bath and had to go to another room along the hallway that had a shower but was like a nice-box it was so cold. There was no internet at all which amazed us as every hotel we stayed at recently has internet. It is 2014 and everyone need acces to internet or their iPhone. You could. To get a glass of wine at the bar, only Pinot Grigio of the pump and it tasted like vinegar.

Quality B&BPosted May 27, 2014
Cons: Good internet/wi fi connection.
Stayed for 3 nights using as a base to explore the roads of North Wales (on motorbikes). Extremely good service and hospitality from Ann and her staff. Excellent food. Being an old building steeped in history the place oozes charm. If you want a 5 star bland place to stay don't stay here. If your after a character B&B with quality service and excellent food…..thoroughly recommended.

Great location, wonderful views.Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: The very pleasant staff. Views. Breakfast.
Location: We stayed in order to visit Llangollen steam gala, Many other things to do and see around here. Hotel website gives lots of ideas.
We stayed for one night. Very comfortable stay with pleasant staff. Good spread for breakfast - many choices if a huge plateful is not your thing. Room very clean and comfortable. Sky TV. Full bathroom ensuite - if staying longer would have liked a shower. Best to arrive when pub open. Closed when we arrived and had to ring from car park to say we'd arrived.

Small friendly hotel, modest rooms, nice food.Posted Sep 10, 2013
We were just passing through the area and needed somewhere for a quick overnight stay before continuing. Hotel is fine, a bit dated but well maintained. Friendly staff/owner. Dinner and breakfast were good. Room was clean, a bit dated. But TV worked well and had freeview. In countryside, probably a couple of miles from town.

Right from arrival it was obvious we had selected a good place. Very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful staff all round. Great food and very large helpings too. Would have expected a higher price for a place this good. Thanks for a really good time. We'll be back for sure. :)
