“Ideal for families who want to kick back and relax”
Cala Pi was fabulous, but we werent prepared for just how quiet, remote & beautifully unspoilt it is. The hotel has a restaurant with an a la carte menu & a half board buffet style menu & the food is plentiful, varied & good but there are about 6 restaurants (Greek, Spanish, pizzeria) & 2 small shops. It took a couple of days for us to switch off but you soon get into doing nothing! If you dont want to hire a car there is an airconditioned bus which makes 2 journeys a day to Arenal & Palma for about 10 euro pp return. Our daughter (17) wanted to visit them for a shopping fix, the bus takes about 45 mins & after an hour or so in Arenal, we couldnt wait to get back! The hotel is very continental with the majority being Spanish! There were people from all over Europe & very few Brits! The kids club, didnt have many English speaking kids in it but, our son (9) palled up with a French lad & had a fab time! Staff work hard to please with activities all day for adults & kids & entertainment at night. Both pools were clean & well kept, with plenty of umbrellas & sunbeds. Cala Pi would suit a family that wants to relax & spend time together but with some entertainment as well. It would make a great base if you hire a car to see the rest of the island, but beware, you soon get used to the peace. If you want a typical tourist/Brit resort - this wont be for you. Cala Pi was a bit of a shock at first, but we can honestly say we had a fantastic time & would definitely go back.
