The chef was new so the first night of our stay dinner was limited to a burger or fish and chips!
Breakfast is ok if up early- it's a hot buffet but the likes of fried eggs are more like bullets once they have been under a hot lamp for two mins. It was a handy place to have as a vase for anything on the west coast.

While this hotel is located a little way from Inverness, it is located in the hills overlooking Loch Ness. From the outside it is a little dated, but once you get inside the rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food at the bar is good. Its location makes for quiet nights and it has incredible views of the Loch

"The Inch" is a distinctive 19th Century shooting lodge in a splendid location overlooking Loch Ness just north of Fort Augustus. Like many such buildings, it has been the subject of piecemeal updating over the years and not all of it sympathetic. The result is a hotchpotch aesthetic, part shortbread tartan, part 21st century chic but overall a bit naff. Add to that some fixtures and fittings which definitely need updating and a heating system that gurgles alarmingly and you'll wonder a bit what you've come to.
But, the welcome was warm, the staff helpful and approachable and the food at dinner and breakfast (of which I had only minimum expectations) was very very good. Hopefully the current owners will give "The Inch" the TLC it needs and turn it into a real Highland gem.

Lovely stay at this very pleasent & Friendly B&B, great location to all the local sites around Loch Ness. The breakfast was perfect, the owners extremely friendly & helpful. The internet connection was excellent, one of the fastest we have had on our travels. The room was very homely and all in all felt like a little home away from home. Would recommend to everyone travelling to & around fort augustus & Loch Ness.

Known as the home of 'Nessie', the monster supposedly lurking in the depths of Scotland's most voluminous lake, Loch Ness is a popular destination in the Highlands. Ramblers can explore the medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle, whilst more experienced walkers can hike the 113 km of the Great Glen Way. Cruises operate all year so visitors can appreciate Loch Ness from its best vantage point: the water.
