Unique B&B in its own large estatePosted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Its uniqueness.
Location: Beautiful location in a highland glen. Good eating places within a few miles. excellent location for exploring the Kintyre peninsular.
A little difficult to find, along a quiet country road, but well worth the effort.A warm welcome from the owners with lots of advice about local facilities. Large, comfortable room with jacuzzi bath but personally we would have preferred a shower. A special feature of this accommodation is the large estate (600 acres) on which it is sited and the freedom to wander around and explore the estate. Breakfast is wholesome, making use of local produce e,g, fresh eggs from the hens that run around the farm.

An OvernightPosted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Quiet remote location, beautiful grounds, comfortable room
Cons: Took five minutes to find someone on arrival, poor welcoming and didn't receive much information about the accommodation
My wife and I were in Lochgilphead for the JoLoMo and selected Kirnan House following excellent reviews on Expedia

Excellent Base for KilmartinPosted Jun 22, 2014
Very well sited for the prehistoric sites around Kilmartin. Lovely place run by very nice people. Prices very reasonable for the standard of accommodation, especially as you have access to the extensive estate surrounding. Highly recommended.

Relaxing locationPosted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels
The hotel was good for a weekend break. Traditinal farm house with hens, dogs and ducks. The room was comforatable with a couch and tea, coffee facilities. Our room had a jajuzzi bath which was most relaxing. The only criticicum I have is that there was no-one there to meet us on arrival. There was a note on one of the doors regarding the loction of a guest room. But the lock on the door was stiff and we couldn't enter we were also a bit unsure if we were in the right place as there was not sign saying Kirnan House Hotel, only Kirnan Estate. We assumed it was right but it was a bit obscure. We went to a nearby pub and asked the barstaff. They tried to contact the owner but couldn't get him on his mobile. It wasn't a very good first impression. The pub contacted a neighbour who had a key for the property and let us into what we assumed was our room and the landlady arrived later and welcomed us. Anyway be had a lovely weekend and when we did meet the owner at breakfast he seemed a very nice chap.

Country estatePosted Aug 22, 2013 on Hotels
The Estate owner went out of his way to be helpful. This place should be renamed as Kirnan Estate as this was on the entrance. We had a lot of trouble finding it as we went into Lochgilphead, not realising that we should have been looking for Kilmichael. The rooms just needed a bit more dusting and cleaning in the bathroom, but they were large and well appointed. The half used shampoo that I found when arriving could have been replaced and there was no coffee, or milk. These are just little things, but they could have been easily remedied.

Trevligt ställe, långt ute på landsbygden.Posted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels
Bra ställe att övernatta på. Finns en pub i närheten som har god mat och öl. Svårt att hitta. Google maps ger fel position, fortsätt längre in på vägen och sväng vänster mot Kirnan Estate.
