Relaxing locationPosted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was good for a weekend break. Traditinal farm house with hens, dogs and ducks. The room was comforatable with a couch and tea, coffee facilities. Our room had a jajuzzi bath which was most relaxing. The only criticicum I have is that there was no-one there to meet us on arrival. There was a note on one of the doors regarding the loction of a guest room. But the lock on the door was stiff and we couldn't enter we were also a bit unsure if we were in the right place as there was not sign saying Kirnan House Hotel, only Kirnan Estate. We assumed it was right but it was a bit obscure. We went to a nearby pub and asked the barstaff. They tried to contact the owner but couldn't get him on his mobile. It wasn't a very good first impression. The pub contacted a neighbour who had a key for the property and let us into what we assumed was our room and the landlady arrived later and welcomed us. Anyway be had a lovely weekend and when we did meet the owner at breakfast he seemed a very nice chap.

Country estatePosted Aug 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Estate owner went out of his way to be helpful. This place should be renamed as Kirnan Estate as this was on the entrance. We had a lot of trouble finding it as we went into Lochgilphead, not realising that we should have been looking for Kilmichael. The rooms just needed a bit more dusting and cleaning in the bathroom, but they were large and well appointed. The half used shampoo that I found when arriving could have been replaced and there was no coffee, or milk. These are just little things, but they could have been easily remedied.

Kirnan Scotland in all its glory.Posted Oct 23, 2012
Pros: Situation, hosts, food and atmosphere
Cons: Leaving it.
Location: Seclused classic Scottish Glen. Abundant in wildlife spectacular scenery and history.
Exceptional in every way. A true "find". I urge every lover of natural good food superbly cooked , nature in all its glory and a Country House atmosphere to beat their way to the front door. ......but please leave room for us to visit again! Thank you hosts Ross and Diana and of course Phillip the doppy dog. It was wonderful walking in the footsteps of my Kirnan kin.
