Nice place. The grounds are pretty but the location is just ok. Basically at an intersection - so it lacks the convenience of being in a walkable area but still doesn’t have the ambiance of a more rural setting. It was nice and quiet despite the location though. Room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated but amenities were basic. Spa looks luxurious and has high-end (and pricey!) products. It was booked during my stay so I couldn’t experience the services.
The place is expensive for what it is. $350/nt on a Wednesday was a splurge that I don’t think the experience deserves. However it is the only “resort-style” accommodation in town so I guess demand sets prices. I was very surprised that the price DID NOT INCLUDE a $20 resort fee which I was charged when I departed. I was also surprised that my booking did not include access to the jacuzzi, etc. I was told I could buy access with a day pass through the spa.
The restaurant was also completely booked. I sat at the bar for dinner but it only serves a limited bar menu. Staff at the bar were great-very friendly and service was good. I got the impression that they cater more to locals because some people were allowed to order items off the dinner menu but I was told it wasn’t available. The entertainment at the bar was a pleasant surprise and I hear it is good every night.
All said, I didn’t absolutely love the place for the money, but I’ll probably return because it’s better than the alternatives.
