“Great destination hotel!”

When our coastside plans fell through because of foggy weather, two of my coworkers recommended the Wine and Roses Hotel in Lodi as somewhere we could spend a couple of nights and relax in the sunshine. They were so right! Upon opening the door to our room, we were immediately excited to be staying there. The room was very inviting with its beamed ceiling, warm-colored walls, big comfortable bed and a bathroom that can only be described as country-style chic. Our patio overlooked the grassy courtyard where weddings are held. There was, in fact, a wedding being set up, and we worried whether they would be keeping us up all night. But, no, after the ceremony and picture taking, they went inside the reception building and we never heard another peep out of them. The hotel grounds are very lush and immaculate. The pool was a little bit of a walk from our room, and although the water didn't seem to be heated, it was fine because it was so hot outside. We had a lovely, delicious dinner (yes, expensive) at the hotel's restaurant. Lodi is a fun area with tons of wineries and a restored downtown boasting many restaurants and shops. All-in-all, we definitely enjoyed our stay here.

“Grown-up B&B”

The property is beautiful and rooms are quiet, comfortable and well-appointed. This is a B & B converted to a larger spa / resort destination, yet it retains the B & B feel. Having the "wine country" visitors center adjoing check-in was a plus. The restaurant was excellent (I wouldn't even think of going to another Lodi restaurant even if I wasn't staying at Wine and Roses). This is my second stay. I look for any excuse to visit Lodi so I can stay at W & R.

“Will go back”

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted warmly by the front desk attendant and then proceeded straight to a complimentary wine tasting featuring great Lodi wines, perfect way to start your stay! Loved the room, beautiful view of a small waterfall out our window, unique interior design. Grounds around the hotel are well kept and beautiful. Restaurant is so-so for the $30 entrees but nice decor and patio. I'd go in to town for less expensive fare and probably find better food.

“Nicest Lodi Hotel”

Nice hotel, nice grounds and updated modern rooms with retro modern decor. My wife got a massage at the spa and was very happy with the service. There is a nice water fall/fountain at one end of the main courtyard which happened to be outside of our room. Service was excellent with a phone call from the front desk after 20 minutes of arrival to see if room was to our liking. Who does that anymore? I recommend this hotel and the local wineries are very nice to visit. We will be back!!

“Great Experience”

We loved it so much we stayed an extra night! The room was fantastic and truly lived up to my "spa" expectations. The warm colors and the soaking tub made the stay very tranquil. The hotel wasn't quite what I was expecting -- the property is set up like small apartment buildings with 4-8 rooms per building. At first, we felt disconnected from the rest of the wedding party and the property is very spread out; however, once we were in the room and woke up to our own private balcony for coffee, we LOVED it. Did I mention the huge private balcony with table and chairs? The food was very good as well. The Lodi Welcome Center attached to the lobby was also a favorite. We stayed in Lodi and drove the 1:15-1:30 to Napa - very convenient location. While in Lodi, you MUST go to the Velvet Grill & Creamery for breakfast -- best in town and really good ice cream, too!!!

“Quiet garden spot except for the parrots”

We shared a room with our best friends on a trip to the wine area around Plymouth. We spent the evenings playing cards on the patio with a view of the garden listening to the pair of parrots say hi to everyone. But they go to sleep early so we could enjoy this quiet and lovely spot. The room was spacious, clean and the Lodi wine area tasting on site along with the demonstration plot of grape types was enjoyable. The restaurant is a bit uneven for the price but our waiter made up for a few flaws with a free dessert and coffee. We don't usually spend this much for a hotel but it was worth it.

“Best in the Area”

Second trip to Wine & Roses, which is a terrific place to stay and enjoy the area. (Son attends UOP in Stockton.) Our modern King bedroom was clean, quiet, and very spacious in the newer part of the hotel by the fitness center. Though the TV is HD; the Comcast signal is not. The grounds are well kept. Enjoyed talking to the head gardener and her assistant about what they grow and experiment with in their plantings. Some of which is used in the onsite restaurant. The restaurant provides a excellent and delicious menu that changes seasonally. Haven't tried the spa yet, but will next time. BTW: For registered guests, wine tastings are included in the wine/visitor center next to the hotel's registration!

“What a gem!”

Fabulous, Darling! Last year we stayed at the Fearrington House in Pittboro, NC that is rated as the second best small hotel in the Country. Wine & Roses is very definitely in the same category. What a gem! Immaculate condition and cleanliness; extremely quiet room; very comfortable bed; and beautiful grounds. We very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the on-site restaurant.
