great for a getaway with a view
Great location and very well organized hotel during this COVID19 era. Rooms with a view are well designed. Breakfast is tasty. Just one little thing, the step to get on and off the balcony in the room is a little high.

Close to the Equestrian grounds and Beach.
Great location to attend the Showjumping. Reception staff very friendly and excellent English. Beds comfortable, but rooms tight, look at the room sizes, even though we pick to a biggest room available, 17sq meters, the bathroom almost hits the bed. Otherwise overall good and would go back.

Great Hotel!
Amazing and delightful! Carole at the front reception was exceptional and her English was great! Overall a great location, lovely room and professional staff. We were in the junior suite and had an awesome view. Loved our stay!

Right on the beach!!
A wonderful location right on the beach. Great restaurants within walking distance. We had a wonderful time exploring the small coastal towns in Brittany ere.

Excellent Overall Hotel and Great Location
This is a lovely hotel overlooking the bay with exceptional staff, fluent in English and happy to speak it for those of us who are less blessed foreign language skills! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the restaurant is superb. For only 22 euros I ate a 3 course meal which would have rivalled most Al La Carte menus - and there is also a fine dining menu should you wish. Frankly, i would stick to the excellent set menu and the wines were also lovely and reasonably priced for a hotel of this class. I give the hotel 4.9 out of 5.0 overall and will definitely re-visit!

Nice and quiet just close to the beach
excellent stay, quiet and close to the beach. hotel is well located just in front of the beach where there is nice bicycling way. u can rent bicycle that was great for half day and enjoy la baule and the neigbourhood safely. hotel staff were helpful and competent. will come back again. room are small but convenient. parking is behind and convenient but u need to book it however you can park easily in the neigbourhood streets. shopping area is a walking distance and nice if u take the beach side.

Had a lovely stay here for 2 nights. Hotel is in a great location. Only thing was the location of the toilet in the room. Not a lot of room if you are 6'2 like me. Other than that great hotel and would stay here again

Long weekend visit
Long weekend visit to see grandson in tennis tournaments locally. Hotel was a near perfect 3 star. Everything just as one could reasonably expect, staff outstandingly friendly and helpful, incl Reception & Restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay, the location was excellent next to the beach in a good residential area. Restaurants within easy walking distance (15mins). Room 106 has a balcony(directly above entrance+adjoining room, 107?) which you can sit out on (have to move furniture from your room, no chairs outside). Hotel restaurant a little overpriced so did not use. Parking limited in car park, but we were able to park in nearby streets easily even in high season.

Everything was good except the dinner. We ordered veal medallion. What arrived was a huge thick square of unevenly cut veal, dry and tough, with a squeeze of mashed potato, a few fried mushrooms, a tiny bit of broccoli and a tiny tomato. Overall the food was most unattractive and unappetising.

Fantastic location and great staff!
The hotel is in a fantastic location, it is modern and very well kept but what makes it stand out is the faultless staff who are friendly and professional. Well done to whoever is recruiting and training this bunch; they are a wonderful asset to the hotel and brand name.

There is no off street parking if you arrive by car you have to wait untill late evening to find a parking spot. The reception on arrival was rather hostile. it made the beginning of our stay rather unpleasent, This however did improve as the week went on. Breakfast was included in the price even though I was nearly charged for this again.The breakfast was really good. I was charged the local taxes again though.We hired the bikes from the hotel at a very reasonable rate.This was an excellent way of getting around. Even though at first we were not made to feel welcome,we would stay at this hotel again.

GREAT LOCATION
We have used this hotel for a number of years as a one night stopping place and do not go for the more expensive rooms. This time we noticed there had been cut backs. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful, but was on her own and we had to wait while she took a long phone call. The usual china cups have been replaced by disposable cups with the tea & coffee room facilities, There were no toilteries/shower cap in the bathroom other than soap and at breakfast there was a lack of service, once you had been shown to a table you were left to get on with it. However the hotel is clean, comfortable, in a great location and great for an overnight stop.

The hotel was well situated and of a standard you would expect in the Mercure group with lovely views over the bay. The staff and management were not very helpful though, we arrived by hire car and were told that the parking was full...end of...when I insisted they helped me to locate another carpark (it was 1 Euro an hour outside the hotel) it they could not be bothered. We also tried numerous times to get as drink at the bar sometimes having to wait over 25 minutes for a member of staff to show up which became laughable in the end. The tea and coffee making facilites were useless in the room but by french standards they had tried to make an effort...no milk or choice but the in room breakfast was very nice and inexpensive.

Excellent location for access across road to beach. For 3* the rooms are ok although seperate toilet with no handbasin and shower curtain arrangement not good. Our problems included Staff surely and unhelpful generally. Restaurant rushed 3 courses p.m meal in an hour,will not serve near closing time & ran out of some simple ingrediants. Wake up call not made (so set own alarm). Charge for free internet & no wireless 4th floor+ and no wire available either. No car park spaces Charged for pre paid accmd (Hotel.com sorted out refund upon return)

Mercure treatment means lack of atmosphere
Lovely old Art Deco building Accor-ised, IE clean but without endearing quirks. You won't be able to use the tiny carpark unless you book when booking the hotel. You have to trawl the streets behind to get a place on the road. The balconmies in the front are of varied sizes - some aren't really balconies. In the back where we were the view is over someone's back garden and the car park. Staff ok but it's a Mercure - they don't do charm much. The people at breakfast stuffing what they could into handbags for lunch and getting there monies worth was interesting. Mostly French clientele and getting frustrated with the overworked waitresses. As with other Mercures which have taken over what were once 'significant' hotels, costs are cut - you feel like pointing this out to the breakfasters - if you want it like the old days - go to the Hermitage of Marie-Christine! You get what you pay for.

Vue plage magnifique
hôtel très bien placé pour visiter La Baule à pied. Il faut penser à réserver une place de parking à l'avance ou alors vous garer plus loin dans le quartier. Idem pour les vélos. Le personnel est adorable, de la femme de chambre à la réception ou au restaurant on se sent bien accueilli et aidé si besoin. Excellent petit déjeuner, séjour au top avec vue sur la plage

Les : proximité immédiate de la plage, calme, décoration typée art déco réussie proximité, de commerces et du centre ville, bon séjour, possibilité pour les motards de se garer au pied de l'hotel ( sinon parking à 19 euros par nuit), hôtel où tout est de taille réduite car patrimoine historique mais confortable Les-: vélos payants 18 euros par jour, caution de 900 euros par vélo inadmissible, critique à peine voilée de la plate forme Expedia qui nous a fort déplus car nous ne voyageons qu'avec Expedia , une petite bouteille d'eau par jour pour 2, 2 dosettes de café par jour, aucun produit d'accueil
