Tranquil getaway

Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: The fact that we had two bedrooms and a bathroom & it was cleaned every day. The farm itself with animals, pool and games room The location
Cons: Breakfasts (offer grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, eggs and charge extra for bacon/sausage?) Evening meals (raise quality & add vegetables!)
Location: Close to nicely understated resort of Santo Paulo (great boat trip around the islands and Mt Taverola). Bear Rock on North coast worth a visit.
A really peaceful stay. Games room (table football) and pool make this a great place for families and we all enjoyed the animals wandering freely especially the male peacocks who regularly put on displays. Smiley, unobtrusive staff. When asked, the owner recommended three seriously beautiful sandy, sheltered, tree-framed beaches with turqouise clear waters all within a twenty minute drive of the farm. Brilliant. We were disappointed by the limited breakfasts (no variety: just sweet breads, nutella & cakes every morning) and samey evening meals where we just filled up on the tasty pasta starters because the main meal - meat/fish and potatoes (not a vegetable in sight) - was so lack lustre. I would recommend this to others but on a room-only or B & B basis (if you like sweet stuff)

Our stay at Borgo de Campagna

Posted Jul 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
This was an incredible find in the countryside of Sardegnia. Signage to get there was poor due to highway construction, but I'm sure that will get worked out. Our kids loved the fact that it was a working fam(agrotourism) so they got a chance to see the horse, ponies, pheasants, etc. Also, we learned about the farming of cork from the cork trees. The staff was great and so was the food. A real gem in the farm country - totally unexpected.
