Great hotel, great start to your Savai'i adventurePosted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: We particularly liked the easy-going feel of the place.
Cons: We were happy with it just the way it was.
Location: The hotel is conveniently close to the ferry. As we stayed at a hotel on the northwestern end of the island afterwards, we used the Savai'in as a base
Everything was good about our stay at this hotel: we had a clean, comfortable and quiet room facing the sea, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was very good, beautiful gardens, great views towards Upolu and islands, good facilities including a swimming pool, and canoes for patrons' use. We stayed for 4 nights, and travelled out from there each day before moving westward on the island, and it proved to be a very good base from which to visit various tourist destinations. We also canoed to the small islands, swam about 100 metres towards the reef and enjoyed some great snorkelling in beautiful coral gardens. We would definitely stay there again.

Cheap and cheerfulPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The staff were very warm and friendly.
Cons: The bedding, the hammocks, the sun loungers, the pillows, the cleaning standard, the noise.
Location: Location has nice food and cheap drinks. Nothing really within walking distance but close to some other nice beaches and resorts if you have transport
We had been seduced by the pictures of hammocks hanging in cute little fales along the water front, however the pictured fale was leaning on one or two beams and the only two hammocks we could see were ripped in half. The bed in our bungalow was hard and the pillows were lumpy. There were a few piles of dirt on the floor in the bathroom and it looked like none of the surfaces had been wiped in a long time. The hotel lacked anywhere relaxing to lie back or even sit and read a book with hard wooden sun lounges by the pool. The last few nights we stayed the locals started blasting loud music around 5 AM. When given snorkeling gear the mask leaked and the snorkel didn't work However the staff were wonderful

HI James, we are sorry to hear of your disappointing stay with us. We take all comments seriously and have brought your concerns to the attention of our housekeepers to address issues in our rooms. All our hammocks have now been replaced . The fale on the left side of our waterfront is still in good condition but you are correct in that the one of the right is leaning and it is currently being dismantled at this very moment. Cushions are available for sun loungers from our bar and we have now pasted a notice out so that our guests are all aware of this. We hope you might return to Savaii to enjoy our island again in the future, regards Management

Tranquility and ComfortPosted May 14, 2014
Savaiian has been nothing but loyal and peaceful for the third time round. Simplicity at its best and restaurant is of top quality, providing the best quality and price (not to mention best tasting raw fish on the island!). Greeted to very friendly staff every morning, never misses a smile. There's no other experience but the Savaiian experience.

Comfortable Hotel on SavaiiPosted Apr 24, 2014
Reasonably priced hotel with comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good food. Its far from luxurious, there are no sandy beaches along its waterfront and the complimentary breakfast is very basic. Definitely recommend having a car if staying here

well kept grounds, amazing staff, beautiful viewPosted Mar 21, 2014
The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and accommodating. There is no beach, but at high tide you can kayak out to waist deep clear water. They also have free snorkel gear. There is a beautiful pool and nice beaches nearby. The food was amazing. Some of the best food I've ever had :)

Nice hotel close to portPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: See above, and we really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, and when we arrived back late at night, Tau greeted us and walked us back to our fale.
Cons: I don't do cold showers, no matter how hot the weather - A hot tap in the bathroom would be nice.
Location: Good location and accessible to everything if you have a rental car.
We received a lovely friendly welcome, and enjoyed the leisurely approach. We can see that work is definitely underway to upgrade the pool and the landscaping and would be interested to see it when it is complete. We enjoyed the pool, and the leisurely breakfasts - I particularly appreciated that it was not an exotic resort, rather a comfortable family hotel that catered for all levels. I loved the chooks and cats and dogs wandering around, and really enjoyed having Blackie to greet us each time we returned!

Simple PerfectionPosted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Once again, the Savaiian was home away from home. Such friendly and welcoming staff always exceeding expectation with service and all round hospitality. The Savaiian can do no wrong with fine dining at its profoundly intriguing restaurant (still holds title of BEST OKA in whole of Savaii, perhaps Samoa?). Always so hard to leave. Love the environment, love the people, LOVE THE SAVAIIAN.

paradise by the oceanPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: The Amazing Staff
Cons: we enjoyed everything
Location: The hotel has kayaks and bikes available to rent, with some good snorkelling spots 300 meters off shore. more a place to chill rather than do things.
we had a great 5 days at the savaiian hotel. Set on spacious , well maintained grounds with views over the ocean looking , back to Upolo. the hotel has a great restaurant and bar and have recently installed a brand new pool which we spent most of our time in. Good location 10 min taxi ride to town and 15 min to sandy swimming beaches. the service is amazing with very attentive staff , who will be happy to help you with anything. The hotel offers a great south or north coast island tour which is a great way to see the island. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
