Exotic experience

Posted Feb 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
If you're looking for a secluded get away at a hotel that doesn't feel like a holiday inn then you've hit the jackpot. Not much nearby but easy enough to arrange excursions if that's what you're planning. For quiet dinners, friendly smiles, exotic feel, beautiful setting and helpful staff ( not much English although the owner resides on the property and makes herself available) this is definitely the place to book. Enjoyed it tremendously.

I loved it here. The service was intimate and personal. The location was a little out but the views are amazing.

In the middle of nowhere, but beautiful view

Posted Sep 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Made a bit of a mistake when booking this hotel as thought it was close to the airport, however, it is not near the new airport. It is located outside of a town but there is nowhere within a 30 min walk, eg, no restaurants or shops. This hotel would be perfect if you want to get away from everything and relax. The hotel is set within a lovely garden and enjoys views of the rice fields and mountains. The swimming pool is a great asset. The hotel serves food which is nice but overpriced compared to local restaurants. You can take a 30 min taxi ride to Senggigi if you want to eat out or enjoy some nightlife. Also be warned that the hotel is near a mosque so be prepared to be woken up very early and the traffic noise is bad considering the hotel is in the suburbs. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Would not stay again mainly because of the location, but would recommend for a complete getaway from everything.

Relaxing

Posted Apr 30, 2013
Pros: relaxed, good swimming, nice restaurant setting, jack the dog
Cons: its all a bit far away from anything
Location: its on the north eastern outskirts of mataram where its a pretty slummy and the neighbourhood offers little in the way of things to do
a very very relaxing stay, infact there is so little to do here that it was extremely relaxing. nice deep swimming pool with good loungers. the 2nd level restaurant was a nice setting with a good view inland to the north across rice and fruit, although the menu was quite good, they pretty much only had half of it in stock so ordering was frustrating. the staff are very friendly and were very forthcoming with advice on activities and places

We are pleased over all except that no shampoo or body wash were provided during our stay. The location is unique and not very accessible though for reasons of being close to padi fields and a view of Mt Rinjani. The big advantage is that it's a quiet and peaceful location. The hotel staff are extremely enthusiastic throughout out stay.

Posted Nov 4, 2011 on Hotels.com
This was one of the best hotels that we have stayed at in awhile! We were so pleased with everything, the rooms were clean and beautiful, the staff was so helpful and fun. And even the owner Rosa was so kind and so helpful to us. We would recommed this Villa to anyone, it really made our stay in Lombok great.

Villa Sayang in Lombok (cozy and relaxing)

Posted Apr 13, 2011 on Hotels.com
It's a quiet and cozy place with a view to kill. The whole place is very nicely done up and my hubby loves the outdoor shower. We also had our dinner by the poolside under the night sky. If you have the time, I would recommend taking up cooking lesson given by Rosa, the Owners of the Villa. You'll get to enjoy what you cook :)

Would definitely go back

The Villa Sayong was a great terrific introduction to Indonesia for the first time. The indiviual villas are well presented and very clean. The breakfasts are also amazing - best orange juice and banana pancakes I've ever had. All food is grown locally. Really enjoyed the 'village feel' of the surrounding neighbour and only 15 minutes to Mataram. Nothing is too much trouble for Rosa or the staff. Only downside was not having access to internet. Great place for a honeymoon or family visit. Will definitely come again.
