A lot of money for very littlePosted Oct 9, 2013
Location: Good location
The Adare Hotel was overpriced for what we got. After climbing up 4 flights of narrow stairs (yes I know this is common in London) we reached our twin room located on the top floor of the hotel. The room was very small, with narrow beds. The bathroom smelled like a sewer and was also tiny. Showering was an adventure as you were unsure if you would get water and if so how much and at what temperature. I overheard the man at reception tell one lady who complained about the lack of water in the shower to wait 10 minutes and try again. The internet that was to be available in our room could only be accessed from the lobby (down 4 flights of stairs). The breakfast was very greasy and unappealing. The only things The Adare had going for it was my bed was clean and the staff were pleasant.

Ideal budget stay for LondonPosted Aug 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is the perfect place for a budget trip stay in London. It's location is unmatched for the price. It is a 10 minute walk to Hyde Park. The neighborhood felt extremely safe. The hotel is two blocks away from the hospital where Kate gave birth to the Royal baby. Because of the hotel's proximity I had a chance to see the royal baby excitement. The rooms do look worn down, but remember that this is a budget hotel. The front desk people are helpful, kind, and welcoming. I would recommend this place.

Three days at the AdarePosted Jul 23, 2013
Television didn't work, night stand drawer was broken, bathroom light above sink didn't work. Location was the only thing we found very convenient.

Pros: Close to Paddington Station
Cons: No hot water for shower on top floor - 74 steps to top floor - no lift WIFI available but could not be detected on top floor
Location: Good location - close to local food outlets and hotels. Paddington station 5 mins away
The Adare is old and needs a lot of tender loving care. ie: our inital room had no lights in the bathroom and the toilet system ran all the time. The window was held up by the rubbish basket. There is no lift. On our return visit we were on the top floor. If you are assigned the top floor, request a change. The water pressure is very poor and we were unable to get hot water in the shower - consequence No shower.

The Blacking FactoryPosted Jun 22, 2013
Cons: The physical space.
Location: It is near the Dickens museum as well as Leicester Square and the British Museum.
Great location and lovely people, but the beds had protruding wires and the basement had an ominously dripping pipe outside the window. In general, it was bleak and horrid.

The hotel was a 2 min walk to Paddington Station, where you catch trains to Heathrow. Lots of walking distance activities including pubs and Hyde park, or take the tube at Paddington. Bathroom smelled like wee and floor sticky. Didn't care to use shower. Room VERY cramped. Hotel staff helpful and even made us early breakfast before 6:30 am train!

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed inPosted May 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
As a seasoned traveller for both business and leisure, I would say I am fairly well qualified to write what I am about to write. In the last year I have stayed in C. 150 different hotels in 20+ different countries. Over sevearl years, several hundred more. Without a doubt this is the worst (and that is some accolade to have) The hotel is tired and run down and is barely a hotel at all, more a B&B that you would find in a 70's seaside resort. At first glance it looks ok, the reception looking a little drab with what looks like a charity shop sofa in the lobby area. As you head through the fire door and walk up the stairs there is a grubby looking carpet and you are surrounded by old wallpaper as you trundle up 4 flights of narrow stairs. When reaching your room, you are likely to be confromted by old beds with old bedding and a atmosphere akin to a prison cell not a hotel room. The bathroom is no better with a worn interior, rusty taps and a shower that is a shower in name only. In fact its should be called a "trickle" I have to be honest, I didnt try the breakfast as I couldnt get out of here fast enough. There is a small redeeming feature in that you are a short walk from Hyde Park and Oxford street, but it doesnt make up for a really poor effort from this "hotel" There is not a shred of value for money in this place at all. If I could give it minus figures I would but I cant. My advice... avoid disappointment and book somewhere else!

Provide a place for sleepingPosted May 25, 2013
Pros: Closer to the London metro/subway station and hot breakfast.
Cons: Water pressure for good shower flow at sixth floor.
Location: Very close to the Hyde Park.
Pay the same price you should have a much better hotel in the big cities in US. No elevator in a 6 story building and particularly if you are assigned to stay at the sixth floor, not only there is no elevator, neither have a good water pressure for morning shower.

Basic london hotelPosted May 13, 2013
Location: Paddington station, Hyde park
If you're from america you may be expecting something classier, but its your basic hotel. Rooms are small, but that is just Europe! Really wonderful location, just 2 blocks from paddington station, we are mid 20s and we found this a little noisy, but not bad, much better than hostels! S our standards are pretty low? But really, great stay, but basic, breakfast was very nice, friendly staff. Bathrooms are small but should be expected!
