Pros: Location to Gatwick Airport really convenient.
Cons: Moving smoking area away from the front door reception area. Allows for smoke to fill the elevators in the hotel.
Stayed here the night prior to an early flight next morning, room was comfortable and rate was very reasonable.

You get what you pay for, I think I paid too much.Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: The convenience from the airport. The restaurant served very good food. The reception was able to accommodate me, even though I checked in early.
Cons: Better housekeepers. Ones that are concerned about the appearance of the hotel and actually like their job.
The bed was comfortable, however the mattress had visible soiled spots. I think the housekeepers are doing the bare minimum. Yes the hotel is dated, but the housekeepers aren't even taking the time to wipe down the walls where coffee stains appear when people make coffee on the desk. That's a basic thing that could help. There was strands of hair left in my bathtub. That's kinda gross, no one wants to see that when they check into a room. If the housekeeper had just slowed down to look at her handy work after she finished cleaning the bathroom, she would have seen that. The housekeepers seemed more concerned with what the hotel can do for them, instead of what they can do for the hotels and the guests. From the outside looking in, they just appear lazy. I hate to generalize them collectively, because there probably are some really good ones and my only experience is from my one night in my room. However, it doesn't make me want to go back. The a/c in the room didn't work, but I was able to call the reception and he delivered a fan to me immediately…so I believe the staff is trying to make a difference.

Parking issuesPosted May 15, 2015
Pros: Rooms now refurbished. Given a choice between britannia Russ Hill and Britannia Gatwick Inn, I would definitely choose here. Good wifi throughout.
Cons: Communication on parking. I probably wouldn't have stayed here had I known issues in advance.
Location: Charlwood Half moon pub (5 min in taxi or G4 bus) and Six Bells Horley (15 min walk) great for british pub food. Tesco next door for for breakfast.
I stayed here in May, just before the busy Gatwick season starts. But on a mid-week night there where no parking facilities available at the hotel. All spaces in the multi-storey are pre-sold to park and fly customers. You will then be told the travelodge next door has a pay and display car park (£7.50 for one night) but this is subject to availability. This car park was pretty full late in the evening - summer season it will be full. I also doubt there is any official arrangement between the two hotels on this matter - where do travelodge customers park when it's full of britannia hotel customer vehicles? It's also not secure - no barriers or security in attendance. I also object to paying to park overnight when I'm staying in the hotel. It must be a Gatwick / Heathrow thing.

One night stayPosted May 11, 2015
Pros: convenience to the airport
Location: Near the Aiport
Arrived at Midnight given a family room instead of double booked which was OK but air conditioning would not turn down only 2 bath-towels in the bathroom discovered the rest of the towels and bathmat hidden on the top bunk bed the next morning. Had to pay £11.95 each for breakfast when this was available at £10 if paid for at reception, this was not mentioned when we booked in. Have stayed at much better hotels for the same price.

Buena ubicación, muy cerca de Gatwick Airport. El bus que te lleva a Gatwick pasa cada 10 mins y hace escalas en todas las terminales del aeropuerto

Closest to GatwickPosted May 10, 2015
Pros: Quiet, efficient
Cons: Nothing - you cant change your building architecture
One of the closest hotels to Gatwick. Clean and convenient, quiet and just the ticket before flying internationally. Although the premises are tired and have a dated external architecture, they are fit for purpose and reasonably priced for the area.
