Spot on for City AirportPosted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, free WiFi throughout, Free bag storage after checkout, very close to City Airport and DLR
Location: Very near the Excel Arena and just across the water from the O2, Transport links to the City Centre are very near.
Having touched down at City Airport at 1.30 we had reached the hotel, checked in, freshened up and were on the platform of the DLR heading into the centre of London by 2pm, fantastic! We were in London for the Python gig at the O2 and the Hotel seemed to be ideally located as we could use the cable car to get back after the gig but unfortunately I had not checked the closing time of the cable car and so we needed to get the bus across the thames and then the DLR to the hotel but this was a minor inconvenience and does not detract from the quality of the hotel, I have included it just to warn others to check the times of the cable car if they plan to use it!

Aloft LondonPosted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Large room, comfy bed, friendly staff. Snack bar is nice too.
Cons: Washcloths in room
Location: DLR is basically connected to hotel which makes transportation anywhere in London much easier.
I stayed for two weeks for long holiday. While a way from central London where I spent most of my time, the my stay was wonderful. Had everything I needed: kettle, fridge, large bed. Room was much larger than most you can get in London for the price. Highly recommend and will be staying again when I return to London!

Excellent London ValuePosted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: The ambience.
Cons: The restaurant should be open for lunch
Location: There is absolutely nothing nearby, but as noted, the hotel is attached to the DLR railway. You barely have to go outside
This hotel might seem remote, but it is attached to the DLR station so in isn't as hard to access as one might think, and it is very close to Shoreditch and other hip areas in the West End. In exchange for being out of the way you get a bright modern hotel with larger rooms and really excellent water pressure, and it is extremely quiet. All in all a good value place. And of course right next to the ExCel centre for conference goers.

Nice hotel staff all eastern EuropeanPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: room, food not great, bar not open to 5pm, could do better.
Cons: Food, bar opening time should be lunch time, more info to clients
Rooms nice, there is no information in room on dining, internet or attractions nearby, staff did not give info on check in. I had to ask them next day as arrived from Australia after 24 hour flight & was not in mindset on check in, one would expect better.... John, Noosa Australia

Lovely, extremely comfortable hotelPosted Jun 23, 2014
Lovely, clean, modern hotel with a great restaurant, cocktail bar, gym and swimming pool. Bed was extremely comfortable and room had useful amenities such as wifi, flat screen tv, tea/coffee/bottled water, hair dryer, shower gel/ shampoo. Room was cleaned everyday, tea/coffee/water replaced daily too. Very close to DLR making it easy to get to other places in London. Would highly recommend and definitely stay here again, a very happy customer!

Clean modern hotel but some areas for improvementPosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Near to DLR for good access to everywhere.
Good overall experience. Check-in was a nightmare. We have stayed here before and check-in was chaos, then also. Three members of staff on the circular reception desk all seem to be needed to complete one check-in. I don't know if this is a training issue where 2 out of 3 don't know what to do or if the shape of the reception means that all members of staff need to be in the same place at one time. Either way, this needs sorting. On arrival, Friday 7pm, there were three other couples waiting to check-in - only one being processed by the three members of staff. It took at least 20 mins to check in - far too long. By the time we were checked-in there were four more couples waiting. The room was as expected, we have stayed here before. Plenty of space and comfortable. Unfortunately the window bind was broken and let light in when closed. The plastic studs had been broken from the fabric and hence it would not travel up and down the runner. The fabric was rethreaded into the runner by maintenance but without repairing the studs so the first time it was closed it came out of the runner again and showed light through the sides. The disposable coffee filters were a nice idea but ONE decaf and ONE normal for a room of TWO people is insufficient. Likewise the large paper cups with take-away lids were a great idea but TWO milk sachets were not sufficient for ONE cup never mind TWO.

Lovely base for LondonPosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: The location is second to none. It's far enough from the centre of London to be quiet and peaceful. Great for a nights rest in the city.
Cons: The shower smelled very disgusting every time the hotel staff had cleaned it each day. We had to leave it running for ages to get rid of the smell.
Location: This is an excellent base for the Docklands - historic maritime Greenwich and the O2 Arena. Lovely area.
Stayed for a long weekend, was most impressed by the location. As this is a very big hotel in a capital city it did have a bit of a corporate feel and the staff were a bit robotic, but the room was very comfortable, the only negative was the smelly shower we returned to each day. It's quite an exciting area with the DLR and London City Airport and so many attractions nearby and many others easily accessible. Would definitely recommend for those thinking of splurging on a creature comforts based trip to London.
