“Very nice hotel!”
We stayed for 4 nights, our room was very large, the tv must have been 42" although we didn't watch one minute of tv. The hotel is right next to the Excel convention center but the best part was the access to the Prince Regent DLR station which is right next to the hotel, giving you access to all the sights in London via the train then the tube. It is on the east end of London so it takes 1'45" to reach Heathrow, but it was not a big deal and cost under 4 pounds using the Oyster card during prime time hours. Free wifi was nice with a very good signal, you have to sign in every 24' but easy to do. Would stay here again as long as the price is right!
“will be back!”
The rooms are beautifully laid out- as a spatial designer I appreciate things like the mirrored hideaway bathroom, the color scheme, the lighting details, and the spacious workspace. Service at the concierge is attentive, and the mini food station by the concierge desk is very convenient for quick breakfasts and late snacks. Internet has a secure connection (much appreciated) and is very fast. I wouldn't really recommend the restaurant though.. service is not very attentive there, and the food is not worth the price (nor very good at all). The only real complaint I have about Aloft is that it is extremely difficult to find. The hotel is situated in a new area that does NOT register into GPS and is inaccurate on Google Maps. Be sure to refer to the Prince Regent Station at the Royal Victoria Dock, which the hotel is right next to.
“Wonderful hotel”
Wonderful hotel, weekend rates are incredible. Close to DLR for direct access into London. Coulnd't have been happier with my stay at this hotel.
“Could not be better.”
New and classy. Very nice stay. The only issue was the Light Rail station was closed for the weekend (scheduled maintenance) which was no fault of the hotel. Loved the free WiFi in our room. And they had washcloths and ice buckets (unusual for London). Lovely.
“Great Hotel”
I had a four night stay here while visiting the UK, rooms are exceptionally clean and very modern. The staff is excellent and the hotel is right next to the Prince Regent DLR station providing easy access to central London. I also like the fact that the hotel was outside of central London providing a very quiet and peaceful stay. And the free wi-fi was an added bonus. The hotel feels little empty at times but it's a fairly new place and eventually will be a lot more crowded. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.
“My first London trip.”
Great hotel. For the money great location to Train, Excel and O2.
“ALOFT EXCEL”
CLEAN AND COMFORTABE THOUGH A LITTLE FAR OUT OF LONDON PROPER.
“Clean, comfortable and convenient!”
Clean, comfortable, colorful and convenient with a friendly, young, multi-national staff who seem to really care their guests have a good experience. I was worried about the Docklands location, but it's only one stop on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from London City Airport. To get to central London and all the touristy things, you need only step out the back door of the hotel - it's right there! Take the DLR from the hotel (Prince Regent Station) one stop to the Jubilee tube line and you can get anywhere in London! Could not be better. We will DEFINITELY stay here again and again. My only complaint is that breakfast was not included in the Expedia rate. So, our only convenient options were an overpriced (£15 each) meal in the 2nd floor restaurant or over-priced grab-and-go in the lobby.
“Comfort and Convenience”
Conveniently located right next to the east enterance of the ExCeL Exhibition Centre the newly opened Aloft London ExCeL provided an excellent standard of accommodation at an affordable price. The rooms were stylish and modern and contained all the features and fixtures needed for a comfortable stay. Being newly opened some staff were still learning the ropes however their shortcomings could be forgiven due to their courteous and helpful nature. The Aloft is also conveniently located a few minutes walk from the Prince Regent DLR station.
“Good, but in a desolate place”
It's a new hotel and it smells like one. Good, if you don't mind going on a moderately long trip to any interesting places. The Docklands Light Rail stop is right on the doorstep. But it's a good 35-45 minutes away from the city centre.(Zone 3)
