Good overall with minor flaws, bad last nightPosted May 1, 2012
Pros: Cheap rate, Free Breakfast, Free Wifi
Cons: New little friend on the last night
Location: Great location.
Good thing about this hotel is the pricing point along with the free breakfast. One of the biggest fault for me is the fact that I found a new little friend on my last night of the stay here. Unfortunately since it was already midnight when I got back, there was nothing the hotel staff can do for me as all the rooms were booked. Another bad thing was the free wifi was quite spotty for my room. I can only get stable signal in the bathroom. Would I stay here again? Probably since the pricing point is so nice with free breakfast and free Wifi (although unstable in the room). I probably have to carry along some kind of rodent replant just to keep my mind at ease.

Weekend in London.Posted Oct 27, 2010
The hotel is well located in terms of access to public transportation. Hotel prices in London are of course out of the extraordinary compared to most other European metropolitan areas, but at this hotel, the rooms were very small, the carpets would have required cleaning and the elevators did not work well at all. Could have been worse given that this was only 4 floors or so. Staff was friendly, but a bit unreasonable when it came to late check-out.

Excellent value, perfect location.Posted Jul 20, 2007
We needed to be somewhere near Marylebone, but with easy access to the West End, and this fit the bill perfectly. We were very pleased to find a welcoming person on the desk, a pleasant reception area, and a room which may have been a touch on the small side, but which had all we needed for 3 nights. The breakfasts were very adequate, and we were impressed to find the hot drinks machine in the dining area available to us 24 hours a day - no less convenient than a kettle in the room. The lift was tiny, but manageable, and reminded me of holidays on the continent, with its manual operation. All in all, we felt the Americana to be great value for money, and for our personal needs, perfect. We would recommend it to anyone.
