The hotel was perfect for our weekend stay. Really clean and great facilities and it was very quiet and peaceful. Location was fantastic.

Poor service
Reception staff weren’t overly friendly on arrival, just left us standing for ages without acknowledging us. I had to directly ask to be checked in. The hotel is nice but the bed was pretty uncomfortable. I usually stay at the Clayton in Cambridge and it is really, really comfy. This bed was nothing like it. We both woke up with a sore back. Our stay was fine, we just used the hotel as a base but again on checking out the staff weren’t overly friendly and made it feel like you were putting them out asking for anything. I wouldn’t stay here again due to the lack of customer service.

Weekend stay
Our room at the Clayton was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is in a good location, as it is not far from Liverpool Street station and Spitalfields, but is away from the noise and bustle of these areas.

I've been staying in various hotels in London over the past few years, on business and visiting my daughter who lives there. Generally speaking, I find London hotels over-priced and under-whelming, but I must say that the Clayton proved to be real good value for money. Not cheap (at all !) but much more worth it than some other properties I tried over the years ! Very comfortable and spacious room / bathroom, squeaky clean, great amenities, great breakfast, very nice staff. Nothing to complain about.

Unfortunately we had an unclean room but the reception/manager sorted it out for us and upgraded us as an apology. Great transport links and not far Liverpool St.area to eat /drink.

Our stay was lovely despite not having the bubbly waiting for us or the bedroom decorated as requested. I went to reception for the bubbly which was then delivered and the room was done when we returned the next day.
