A quiet placePosted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: The hotel is extremely quiet. They give you a complimentary newspaper in the morning, and allow you to eat the snacks except for the nuts and wine.
Cons: The overall lighting of the hotel is dark. It really needs to be brightened up a bit.
Location: The closest areas of interests near this hotel are the Museum of London, the Monument, and St. Paul's Cathedral.
This was a 2 night stay. The hotel was within the city of London, however, it is out of the way to get to the major sightseeing spots. I would have paid a little more to try and get to the city center since we only had 2 days. The hotel is off of the Moorgate exit so you do need to transfer to get to the major sightseeing places. Since the hotel is located in a financial business district in London's north end, there are not a whole lot of stores or restaurants open nearby late at night. The Moorgate exit does not have an elevator so you will be lugging your suitcases up and down the stairs. It's probably best to call for a cab and get to a place where there are escalators.

Overnight stay for a birthday night outPosted Dec 29, 2013
Pros: Clean, quiet, comfy
Cons: Shower door needs to be fixed. The room was a bit hot.
Location: The location is the City which is quiet at weekends, but it was a very easy walk to St Pauls, and not bad to London Bridge (probably not in heels!)
Hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Very good facilities. Didn't have breakfast as booked via Expedia without that option and the cost of it was pretty expensive - £10 or £15. I think that's pretty standard in a hotel but not something I want to pay. Shower door didn't close properly is the only bad point. But we didn't complain about it as we were there for one night and it didn't really cause us any problems. We should have mentioned it though so it could be fixed for the next people staying. Late check out of midday was a blessing as we were a bit worse for wear after a night out in London. Didn't really see many other guests and it was very quiet - just what we wanted.

wonderful staffPosted Nov 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
My husband and I stayed at the Apex from Nov. 2-5, 2013, checked out for two nights and returned for one night Nov 8th. From the first minute we arrived at the Hotel, 8am London time, the staff was very accommodating. They stored our luggage and seeing the we were very tired from our all night flight from NY, they had our room cleaned ahead of schedule and let us check in at 10am. This was wonderful since we were able to take a nap and still enjoy the full day in London. The room was very comfortable, clean and the free wifi was convenient. The only slight negative was the Hotel's location. It is located in a business district and the food stores and restaurants very close around the Hotel are closed Saturday and Sunday. But with only a 3-4 block walk you have everything available. Very close to Moorgate Tube stop and a short walk to Liverpool Street Tube stop which is a very big hub. The staff is always there to help and we would definitely stay at the Apex again.

Truely amazing..Posted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: Customer service is out of this world! We asked the hotel for a taxi, they ordered one it came back declined, so they went on the street and got us 1
This hotel has to be one of the best hotel I have ever stayed in! I understand that's a strong statement. After booking my stay in initially the city room I had all the usual confirmation emails. About a week before my stay was due the hotel itself sent me 2 emails, 1 confirming my stay and the other was basically saying don't hesitate to contact us in advance for whatever reason. I though this was a lovely touch. My weekend away was for my boyfriends birthday and I wanted to make it as special as possible for him. So I contacted the hotel and I was blown away by there customer service. I spoke to Alex on reception she went above and beyond for me! I explained why I was staying and if their was anything special they could do, to my amazement they upgraded our room, put towel swans on our bed left a lovely card and a nice box of chocolates! I asked if they could put champagne in the room but unfortunately the hotel did not stock the champagne I normally like. But that was not a problem they said I was welcome to bring my own with me and hand it over at reception and they would put it in an the ice bucket in my room ready and waiting! Alex informed other staff members of what was planned and that my boyfriend knew nothing about what was planned! On arrival at the hotel I was greeted and the member of staff who checked me in knew everything about it! I was over the moon everything went to plan! I will defiantly be staying again! Everything was amazing! It's a must stay!

Nice hotel, terrible staffPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: My son said the hotel itself and the room were lovely. What a pity the staff members let it down. I think a letter to the hotel manage will soon be in
Cons: Hotel staff's mannners.
This was a 30th birthday present for my son and his girlfriend. I telephone on the day of the stay to ensure that staff would be aware that it was a birthday present however on his arrival, late in the evening as I had informed the hotel, the staff members were rude and unhelpful. They ordered a meal from the night menu which, when it finally arrived, was cold. They sent it back and ordered a pizza; it arrived with barely melted cheese and was lukewarm. They asked for a replacement which arrived in the same state. He took it to the reception and informed them that it was a disappointment for any stay but particularly for a birthday treat. They were he said, 'beyond rude'. As he left he heard them complaining about him. This was a disappointment to say the least. I spent ages on the 'Net looking for a suitable hotel, which appears to have been a waste of time; and that's a shame as the hotel itself was 'wonderful' according to my son. I would not recommend this hotel because of the appalling service. If you don't want people arriving late in the evening and do not want to provide a night menu, say so.
