Small rooms good value

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Bed comfort and friendly staff
Cons: Given the impossibility of enlarging the rooms, not a lot
Location: Good location, near the Heathrow Express, an easy walk. 3 minutes from Edgware Road and the Lebanese Restaurants.
Typical old style hotel in central London from converted old housing stock. Rooms are small and the bed takes up most of it. But for a place to sleep as a business traveler on a budget and needing mainly to sleep it is good value. En suite bathroom small also but functional. You get what you pay for. Don't expect a modern Hilton type hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed comfort good to excellent. Slept well. Good location convenient for the Heathrow Express, just across Praed Street and down Spring Street to Sussex gardens. It was only me so not so much an issue, if you were sharing the room then you'd feel cramped.

Well designed room

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: This hotel is just a short walk from Paddington station and very convenient to catch the Heathrow Express to the airport.
Cons: Decor is looking a little shabby.
Location: Good selection of restaurants at the end of the block (although they are all pretty touristy, given the location).
I had a single room and I thought the layout was done very well, with room for a small bed, desk, wardrobe and tea/coffee making facilities. The room was small but didn't feel at all cramped and I was very comfortable during my short stay. The surrounding area felt safe for a single woman traveller and there are a number of restaurants nearby, as well as good tube connections to other parts London. The decor is not elegant but the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Worst value for money

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Bed sheets look clean but the smell is awful. Mattress and pillow very uncomfortable Water in the shower is on and off! ! No hot water at all! Water comes down only when you turn the knob to cold. Very small room at an expensive rate for this size. Staff are good and location is fine but other that wouldn't recommend it at all.

Noisy! Walls made of paper

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Too loud to get a good night's sleep. Loud ventilation unit sounded like I was trying to sleep in an airplane and walls so thin I could hear the TV program being watched in adjacent room. Not acceptable...enough said!

Good location

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Great location if you want to be near Hyde Park, US Embassy and Marble Arch area. Tube station, shopping and restaurants all within walking distance. Wonderful front desk staff - super helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom were very clean. I had great difficulty sleeping due to excessive noise from other guests and because the bed/mattress was extremely firm. It was so uncomfortable for me that I would not stay here again. If you don't mind a hard mattress, then I would definitely recommend as a great budget hotel in a nice location. No air conditioning but a fan was provided, which was all we needed. Wifi was great- fast and no problems connecting.

Nice hotel with car parking, ideal for Hyde Park.

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Everything apart from the breakfast.
Cons: The breakfast.
Location: Close to the city centre, 10 minutes from Hyde Park.
Friendly, helpful staff, clean room with what you would expect for the money. Car parking space at a reasonable cost. A good economic stay.
