“Quality hotel in Paddington”
Given the quality of many hotels that can be found in Paddington, this was a pleasant stay - albeit reflected in the price. Other reviews said the hotel was renovated recently. Certainly, this applied to the bathroom - which was beautiful and functional, and the room furnishings. The carpet and door-frames looked weathered and from another era, but this was a minor appearance issue. Room was clean and comfortable, altho with no view. Very good user-controlled AC, once we figured out how to turn it on. A very good cooked and continental breakfast was included in the price, as was wifi - both a nice benefit that helped justify the cost in comparison to nearby hotels where these generally seemed to cost extra. Lobby and bar/library area was very nicely renovated and comfortable. Its in a quite neighborhood, with a couple of decent pubs close by for casual dinners or afternoons if you aren't wanting to venture into the city center. Close by Paddington Rail for the Heathrow Express (~7-8 min walk) - but far enough to avoid the noise and bustle of Praed St. Just a few min from Lancaster Gate for the tube to most central London locations easily. The building next door was covered in scaffolding and being turned into another new hotel, however this never interfered with our stay.
“Very Nice”
Great hotel- no complaints. Clean, comfortable room. Small, but I expected that being a hotel in central London. Breakfast buffet was fine, free luggage storage, easy access to Paddington Station/Heathrow Express (5 min walk) and Lancaster Gate tube was just a couple blocks. Plenty of food choices within a few blocks, and only a block from Hyde Park. Not to be confused with a true luxury hotel, but this was a fine full service hotel for an affordable price. I would definitely stay there again.
“Convenient, clean, good location”
After trying to give me an unacceptable room, they changed to a nice room, great decorated, a lot of London appeal, excellent breakfast, close to tube. Recomemnd and will visit again.
“would return”
For a quick business trip to London, location convenient to Paddington (Heathrow express) and central London (subway). Hyde park nearby is a great place to walk. Room was very clean, breakfast perfect. Would return tomorrow!
“Convenient”
Walking distance from Paddington train station where Heathrow Express ends. Rooms small, but clean. Staff friendly. Wi-fi included.
“Comfort Near the Park”
Just one block from the park and a short two block walk to the Tube gave value to this location. The neighborhoods nearby had ethnic restaurants, small shoppes, and take-away stores; and were just nice for walks away from tourist crowds. The hotel has a nicely kept bar and library, good service, and the staff keeps the building maintained and clean. The room was typical European size with a city view, both comfortable and clean. The location was just far enough from Notting Hill and the Strand that prices were lower, but access to the Park and a quick walk to the Tube station puts the city at your doorstep. I would definitely stay again.
“Nice Boutique Hotel in Convenient Location”
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is in a central area accessible to two main underground stations, across from Kensington/Hyde Park, and off of a major artery where you can catch a bus. However, it is tucked away enough and in a semi-residential area that you can retreat. The hotel I believe was renovated not long ago, so it really looks stylish, especially the lobby area. Overall, I would recommend it. Below is a listing of positive and negative points I found about the hotel (positives definitely outweigh negative points): Positives: -Clean, nicely, and elegantly decorated -Friendly and helpful staff -Free internet use in business center -Tube stations within walking distance (Lancaster Gate and Paddington) -Semi-residential area, with convenience stores nearby and a nice pub right behind the hotel -Elegantly decorated lobby area -Price for value pretty good -Iron in room Negatives: -Small room, not enough storage space (was in a single room) -Creaky floors (it is a converted terrace apartment) -Can hear toilet flush and shower upstairs -No help at entrance with luggage -No shelves in bathroom for towels -No soap dish holder in shower for amenities -No fridge in room
“good location hotel”
we arrived at noon and were treated nice and proffessionaly by the women at the desk Overall we were pleased from our stay one drawback we got a room at the street level which compromise our privacy a little bit but not to mouch breakfast is excellent, internett free and good and both included in the price
“Small but adequate”
The room was very small, little more than a closet, but it was all I required for a two-day business trip when I was only in my room long enough to sleep. Location is fantastic, a block and a half from a metro stop, a block from Kensington Gardens. Beautiful neighborhood, quiet, with a tavern around the corner.
“Best location”
TV programs could be better. The quality of broadcast (I suspect Internet streaming) was not good.
