Don't be put off

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Good value for money.
Don't be put off by the surrounding buildings just because they are currently empty and run down. The hotel is in a delightfully quiet part of London just off the Bayswater Road and opposite Kensington Italian Gardens. There are a good choice of restaurants in the area, Indian, Italian and Chinese. The hotel does not have restaurant facilities but the neighbourhood has plenty to choose from. The single room was spotlessly clean, very modern and quiet despite being on the ground floor. The staff were very helpful, polite and efficient.

Nice hotel for London

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Cons: Had booked a twin room but were given a double one; staff sorted this out very quickly though.
Located in quiet side street off Hyde Park. Room spacious, staff helpful. Very comfortable beds.

Great hotel, fantastic location

We booked last minute and got a lovely room a huge bed, couch, desk and tv. It was very quiet throughout the night and service was wonderful. Everyone was very cheery and helpful with all our needs. I would definitely stay again and definitely recommend this hotel to friends!

Make sure to room specs carefully!

While overall the hotel is really good and well positioned, I got the bottom of the deck in terms of rooms. While the decor matched the photo, it was not just tiny, but miniscule - even by "single" room standards. Booked well in advance, paid in advance and still ended up in the basement, with a window right where the staff takes their cigarette breaks and a wall shared with the gym. The price did not equate to what I got. Be warned and ask where the room is and exactly what you are getting...

Dear Mr Christopher Thank you very for taking the time to share your experience with us. We review the feedback that we get on a daily basis so that we can make the changes that matter to our guests and continually improve our offering. I am very sorry to hear that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations. As a listed building that has been converted into a hotel all of our rooms are unique. We do work to ensure that all are of the same standard. I hope that you will reconsider and give us another opportunity when you are next in London. Friendly, accomodating, welcoming and efficient front desk. A minor room issue led to an upgrade and free breakfast in a room wonderfully crisp and comfortable. Relaxing lounge and bar with library feel. Minutes away from Hyde Park and not much further to Notting Hill and Little Venice.

Pros: It's proximity to the Tube, Hyde Park, Paddington Station
Cons: The hallways are difficult to maneuver with big luggage. Not sure how to solve that issue though.
Location: Located in one of the most scenic parts of London, walking distance to Hyde Park, Marble Arch and Kensington Palace.
I was only at this hotel for one night, but they made it as comfortable and convenient as possible. This is a good hotel to stay if you're alone in London on business or an extended layover. It's small, but cozy, much like living in a traditional Paddington/West End apartment building. The most intriguing part of my stay was having a drink at the Library Bar. The person at the reception desk was also the bartender. He offered me crisps and peanuts with my beer, which I enjoyed. The Library Bar is a great place to chill out for a drink before or after a night out. It's a great stay if you plan on spending all your time out in the city and need a place to sleep and shower.

Good hotel close to Central London.

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the restaurant staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly - nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Limited space in the room.
Location: Very close to a good bus service into Central London and minutes away from a tube station.
I chose the hotel so I was able to travel easily to Oxford Circus where I was attending a training course. This proved to be a good choice; the transport links are very good. This hotel would also suit shoppers.

Great location, Great Accommodations

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: LOVED the foyer and Library bar. Met several business acquaintances there. The rooms were pleasant and the updated bathrooms were super. Very Clean!
Cons: Fix glitch in wake up system. When callers are trying to reach someone, staff should assume they are registered and give correct info. MAJOR issue !
Location: Loved being able to walk to Lancaster Gate and being so close to Hyde Park as well as all the restaurants and shops around the corner.
My comment re: staff needs to be qualified. They were friendly, but I wasn't getting my very important business messages, and they were telling people who were trying to get hold of me, that I wasn't registered in the hotel. This happened more than once. Then, when I asked for a wake up call on the day that I was leaving, it came 1/2 hour later than requested. The accommodations were excellent the location for me was perfect and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
