Pros: Location, attentive staff, and clean.
Cons: My stay was fine.
Location: Across from one of the best parks in London. Easy access to tube and busses. Short stroll to Notting Hill/central London.
Clean hotel just across from the park. Easy access to central London. Granted, I wasn't actually in the room much, but when there, it was a quiet and restful experience.

Close to Paddington

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate Tube Station.
Cons: The glass shower door wouldn't close properly.
Stayed here on the way home from Scotland. The room was clean and comfortable. Was a little taken back by the glass bathroom, but otherwise it was fine. Extremely close to Lancaster Gate Tube Station, and a short walk from Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express.

Good

Posted Aug 4, 2014
I booked my room using an expedia promo and had a great rate. Maybe because of that I got a tiny room with a tiny bed, in the lower floor, in the back. Regardless, the location is great, just at the park and a block from the Lancaster gate tube station. Room is clean and shower is great.

Great hotel, and close to Lacaster Gate tube and Paddington. Well located for central London. Also, stones throw from Hyde park.

Don't be put off

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Good value for money.
Don't be put off by the surrounding buildings just because they are currently empty and run down. The hotel is in a delightfully quiet part of London just off the Bayswater Road and opposite Kensington Italian Gardens. There are a good choice of restaurants in the area, Indian, Italian and Chinese. The hotel does not have restaurant facilities but the neighbourhood has plenty to choose from. The single room was spotlessly clean, very modern and quiet despite being on the ground floor. The staff were very helpful, polite and efficient.

Nice hotel for London

Cons: Had booked a twin room but were given a double one; staff sorted this out very quickly though.
Located in quiet side street off Hyde Park. Room spacious, staff helpful. Very comfortable beds.

Great hotel, fantastic location

We booked last minute and got a lovely room a huge bed, couch, desk and tv. It was very quiet throughout the night and service was wonderful. Everyone was very cheery and helpful with all our needs. I would definitely stay again and definitely recommend this hotel to friends!

Make sure to room specs carefully!

While overall the hotel is really good and well positioned, I got the bottom of the deck in terms of rooms. While the decor matched the photo, it was not just tiny, but miniscule - even by "single" room standards. Booked well in advance, paid in advance and still ended up in the basement, with a window right where the staff takes their cigarette breaks and a wall shared with the gym. The price did not equate to what I got. Be warned and ask where the room is and exactly what you are getting...

Dear Mr Christopher Thank you very for taking the time to share your experience with us. We review the feedback that we get on a daily basis so that we can make the changes that matter to our guests and continually improve our offering. I am very sorry to hear that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations. As a listed building that has been converted into a hotel all of our rooms are unique. We do work to ensure that all are of the same standard. I hope that you will reconsider and give us another opportunity when you are next in London. Friendly, accomodating, welcoming and efficient front desk. A minor room issue led to an upgrade and free breakfast in a room wonderfully crisp and comfortable. Relaxing lounge and bar with library feel. Minutes away from Hyde Park and not much further to Notting Hill and Little Venice.
