great location, good value - room quite smallPosted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: style & atmosphere of a small not too modern hotel
Cons: size of room - I rather have a smaller bed for one and more space

Fabulous location close to shops, restaurants and 2 tube stations. Great continental breakfast with lots of selection. Place has lots of character and I will be staying there again!

nice hotel, good locationPosted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: room facilities and cleanliness, location!
Cons: I could not figure out how to turn the heating down. The room was quite warm.
Location: Close to Bayswater tube station and Whitley's shopping centre. Kensington palace and gardens near by.

Decent London HotelPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and tidy room
Cons: Due to character of hotel (old building), room is little bit old fashioned.
Location: Great location - less than 5 mins from Bayswater Tube station. Thriving area - plenty of shops and restaurants.

A PLEASANT HOTELPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: CLEANLINESS OF THE ROOM
Cons: WIFI ACCESS; BREAKFAST
Location: SHOPPING AT THE CITY CENTRE
THE HOTEL STAFF ARE FRIENDLY. HOTEL IS CLEAN. HOWEVER, WIFI ONLY WORKS IN THE RECEPTION AND SIGNAL STRENGTH IS WEAK. BREAKFAST WASNT EXCITING. OVERALL RATING, GOOD.

Great locationPosted Oct 17, 2013
Very happy with phoenix. The location was in a nice area off a main street and around the corner from 1tube station (bayswater) and a few blocks up from queensway. Staff was freindly and room I had overlooked the park. I will be back. My only thing was that the people upstairs were walking all over their room pretty late.

Nice hotel in Notting Hill / BayswaterPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: nothing extraordinary
Cons: staff attitude
Location: corner away from Bayswater, so a good selection of restaurant, mini supermarkets, and coffee shops
Nice room with a mezzanine floor for the bed - which was a pain at times as the wardrobe was downstairs. shower room very nice as was recently renovated. I asked the receptionist for an iron, she gave me an iron, and i asked her if the ironing board was in the room (there was nothing i could iron on) - apaprently not, so she got one from behind the reception, lifted it over the counter and passed it on to me to carry up. bear in mind I had my own bags, plus an iron, i could barely carry the board also and she didn't offer to help. shame as that tampered my attitude towards the hotel. She also kept on talking in a foreign language with the other receptionist in front of me which is not nice at all - common courtesy, especially when dealing with clients.

Great location, good pricePosted Oct 14, 2013
I stayed in a single bed room, and while the room was very small, sitting in your room all day is not why you visit London. The room had everything I needed, was clean and had pretty good facilities. The Bayswater tube station is a 3 minute walk away, and there are plenty of little shops around. The hotel was great in letting me store my luggage when I arrived very early in the morning, and also for when I left late in the afternoon. They were also really helpful in organising an airport shuttle. I would stay there again, especially if you want to explore Kensington, Notting Hill and around Hyde Park. You're also on the Circle tube line, so easy to get everywhere.

Convenient and quiet locationPosted Oct 9, 2013
I was looking for somewhere conveniently located for a short break in London. This hotel is a very short walk from Bayswater tube station. Though it's worth noting that Queensway station is also only a short walk, and far more convenient for accessing attractions/locations via the Central line. The hotel is on a quiet road, though still very close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, gift shops and supermarkets. A great location. I booked a single room, which was compact, but lacked nothing. Also a good breakfast selection, and the staff on the front desk were friendly and helpful.
