Clean, friendly hotel

Couldn't fault for an overnight stay so close to the City. Some works being carried out but wasn't an issue? For the money we paid we couldn't fault it.

Good location

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Cons: Needs refurbishment.
Location: Good, central to Canary Wharf
Good location but everything else was poor. Booked a non-smoking double and was given a smoking twin. The room is very very tired and needs updating asap. The (single!) bed was tiny, and the water pressure far too low in the shower. The reception staff were apologetic, and friendly, but no real effort to rectify the fact that I was given a completely different room to what I had booked!

Stay wasn't as good as usual

Posted Nov 21, 2014
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have previously have very nice rooms. They may have needed a little bit of work on up keep but were still 4* standard. However my most recent visit I found the hotel in desperate need of renovation. It seems they must be doing some as there are building works out front. The room I was in was very run down and not at the standard I have come to expect. I hope they are able to get all their rooms redone soon and change things like threadbare old carpets and dirty wall paper.

Very convenient for the 02

This hotel needs a major refurbishment and is very dated. First impressions, disappointed but you get what you pay for as it is around £50 cheaper per night than local competitors.

Poor for london standards

Reception staff very poor did not respond to us on arrival when he did he was chewing gum, this I do not expect in any Hotel the room decor is tired and the air conditioning did not word. The food was very poor I have had better on a motorway service station. I have worked in hotels in London 50 years and the service was not like that.

Location: London O2 arena.
Fantastic hotel. Great location from the O2 arena. The staff were really helpful and chatty. Made you very welcome. The room was really new though and you could still smell a little paint. Also, there was no window in our room which I would have preferred.

Convenient for our visit to the O2 Arena

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: The locality was good and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: General bedroom maintenance; tea and coffee provision.
Location: Hotel is situated in Canary Wharf in a pleasant location with easy access to the London Underground and DLR network and only 1 stop from the O2 Arena.
We arrived at the hotel for our 1 nights stay at 11.30, hoping to leave our bags in a left luggage room while we attended the ATP finals at the O2 Arena. As it happened our room was ready and we were able to have access to it straight away, which was very helpful. The hotel is 1 stop on the underground from the O2 Arena so was very convenient for our purposes. On our return late at night the room was very warm, 25 Celsius according to the room thermometer. There was no air conditioning. There was some sort of control facility on the wall but whatever we did the temperature never went below 25 and peaked at 26.5 and the fan was noisy at its faster speed; all this resulted in a less than comfortable night's sleep. The beds were comfortable and there was an unusually generous supply of pillows and adequate provisions in the bathroom. The tea & coffee facilities were miserly compared with other places. One of the bedside lights did not work. This hotel suited our purpose and was OK for the 1 night we were there; we would not have liked to have coped in that particular room for longer.

London

Pros: Location, housekeeping and the cappicino
Cons: The beds!
Location: Easy access to the tube...very easy to get to O2 Arena. 15 min ride to Tower of London or Westminster.
Overall I was very disappointed with this hotel. The staff was basically friendly and helpful. The bed was TERRIBLE. I ask for another room which wasn't available. The housekeeper put two comforters on the mattress and it was still hard. I location is good with easy access to the DLR and underground, but not much to see around the hotel.

Adequate and Convenient

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Convenience of position.
Cons: Lighting in the room. Shelf in bathroom.
Location: Canary Wharf is a vibrant area with museums, cinemas and good dining all within easy reach.
To be fair I only used the hotel as a base. I've stayed before and knew what to expect. The room was fine, old-fashioned but very clean, though the bathroom was a tad too small with no real space to store things. I stayed over a weekend, on a longer stay that would have been irritating. The wifi was fine. Room service was excellent though the food (burger which itself was tasty, but the fries etc not so much). Only real criticism, however, was the lighting. Guessing energy-saving, but would have liked better on the one evening I stayed in to work. Overall, though, good value for what I paid and really handy for the Canary Wharf area, which is what I needed.
