Very convenient located hotel near the Underground

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: The bed covers should be changed. It looked very old and dirty.
Location: Very near to the Underground, and also accessible to several museums.
Was there for 3 nights. Overall experience was ok, though it got rather noisy when there was a thunderstorm during one of the nights. Value for money. No AC though, luckily the weather was cool.

Great location but shabby and uncomfortable

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Big clean bathroom with bathtub.
Cons: Furniture and bedding.
Great location a step away from South Kensington tube station and fantastic area next to museums. However, the furniture and bed were very cheap and uncomfortable. Lots of street noise due to thin windows, despite double glazing. Wobbly table. Flat pillows. Rough sheets. Dirty top bedspread, and the blanket underneath looked soiled too. The bathroom, however, was fantastic. Bathtub, nice tiling, single spout faucet, and sparkling clean. It's a good choice if you just need a cheap stay and won't be spending much time in the room. If you are out and about at the museums and other attractions of London, then it's fine.

The worst hotel I have stayed in.

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
I have never stayed in such a poor hotel. The £95 a night, even in Kensington, was an insulting amount to charge someone for a single room of this appalling standard. * There was no lift and I had to drag my cases up 3 flights on a dodgy staircase * The standard of the room was dreadful and the whole hotel was scruffy and dingy * There was not enough toilet roll in the room t get me through one evening * I asked for an iron/ironing board which I, obviously, had to drag up to the room myself, and it promptly fell apart in my hands * The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and verging on rude. One stood a few feet away from me when I left, watching me struggle down the stairs with my cases and only when I caught my heel in the bottom of my coat and nearly fell down the stairs did he offer to help. * I had booked and paid for 3 nights and left after the first night. I couldn't wait to get away!!

Poor hotel, good location

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Great location next to S Kensington tube, and great to have fridge in room. Room on top floor had floor fan.
Cons: Decor, electrics, water supply all need work - in general a major refurb needed
Location: Great location next to S Kensington tube
Rooms in very poor condition. V tall building, steep stairs so useless if mobility issues. Rooms hot, no air-con. Poor electrics, no water from bath taps, light bulbs not working. Some staff friendly and helpful but not all. On the plus side, great location next to S Kensington tube, and great to have fridge in room. Room on top floor had floor fan.

Great Location

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The WiFi signal was weak. Had to go outside room to use it.
Location: Get on the Tube and go anywhere. Easy walk to Natural History, Science and Albert Museums.
I stayed in this hotel from Mon- Fri. No problems with booking. You are paying for location which could not be better. Great access to Tube, Museums, and a range of food/small grocery store. There is a pub down the street. The hotel is clean and functional but the bed is very firm. I had a roadside room which was surprisingly quiet. There is a bar downstairs but no late night noise was heard. WiFi signal was too weak to use in room, had to step outside. The night watchman was helpful and friendly but some leeway must be granted as English was not his first language - no problem. Was able to store bag for the day as flight was not until 2200. Already on Piccadilly Line for Heathrow. Want a clean quiet room, well located and not concerned with dated decor. This might be the place for you. Will stay again.

Great location

It was most enjoyable. Our room was clean. We got fresh towels everyday! It was right next to the South Kensington Tube station. We walked to the Victoria and Albert Museum and to the Natural History Museum. We would stay there again anytime we're in London.

Bad value for money

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: everything
For 160GBP a night you would expect much more than this, even in a pricey are. Room was on the last floor and very hot with fan not working. Staff doing just the minimum to give you the key but definitely not making you fell you are welcome. Location is great but not worth the price
