OK, but beware of showers and smoke

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Our room in this "non-smoking" hotel reeked. Taking a shower was a problem. Water went from lukewarm to sudden ice cold. Never could get a proper adjustment. This hotel is a bit remote and it's expensive and slow to travel by taxi. However, there are tube stops close by and a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. Internet is free in the bar, but so many users make it difficult to get on line.

Disappointing room for the price

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Quality of the rooms
Location: Hotel is just across the road from Hyde Park.
The public areas of the hotel are clean and modern looking, the room however was disappointing. My double bed was too singles joined together with Velcro and fit into a space not made for a double bed meaning the bed didn't sit flush to the wall as there was an electrical box at the back of the bed. There was also a light switch and phone port in the middle of the bed right at the height you head would be at when lying down. Wallpaper was pealing off the wall in multiple spots around the room. The curtains were thin and didn't close all the way allowing light to flood into the room even when the curtains were pulled closed as far as they would go.

basic clean london hotel

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: location & price
Cons: wi-fi for the rooms
Location: you are just a few tube stops away from everything central london has to offer - a week is needed if you have never been!
i would recommend this hotel for being in central london - it is not a fancy hotel by any means, but it is clean, and priced on the lower end for London hotels - 5 minute walk to the closest tube station - QUEENSWAY, and another 3-5 minute walk to another station just down the street - BAYSWATER - depending on which line you need to be on - when coming in from Heathrow it's easier to go to the BAYSWATER station, and walk up the slight hill to the main road, where across the street is Hyde Park, turn left and go to the 2nd block, turn left again, and the hotel is a 1-2 minute walk from the main road. IF you had to walk to Buckingham Palace from the motel it would probably be a 20-25 minute walk - buy a day pass for the tube, and use it - it pays for itself in 3 rides! The hotel does provide free WI-FI in the hotel lobby/bar area free of charge, but not in the rooms. If we go back to London I would stay at this hotel again.

Great but....

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Staff - bar - location
Cons: My room was clean, well equipped but a little tired and a strange design - loo behind the door, a small TV a long way away from my pillow !!
Location: Plenty to see and do locally - parking is easy
The entrance lobby, the bar and all looks good when you enter and indeed it would unfair to suggest the hotel is anything less than satisfactory but .... I arrived to a room (booked through Expedia) that was great value but needed some TLC. It was comfortable, clean but just tired. Then I discovered I had no towels and it took two calls for them to arrive - but these things happen and overall this is a great value hotel. Staff are good, prices in the bar are reasonable and all in all this is a good establishment.

Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Room and bathroom were tiny....totally unsuitable for international guests with large suitcases Grotty, split carpet. Poor electrics + plumbing
Location: kensington gardbs
We only needed a hotel for one night in transit between London and Glasgow and this was a 'mystery' expedia hotel at a discounted rate

Broken tiles and dim lighting

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Staff seemed pleasing and helpful.
Cons: Lighting could be fixed very easily.
Location: Good location with tube nearby.
We were put in some rooms off to the side and they may have been worse than the rest. We had to use a flashlight to read at night. In the bathroom there was a broken in half tile that the manager said was going to be fixed. Right!

this hotel is close to down town

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Unlike this hotel
Cons: To do professional cleaning work, and to install air condition in whole hotel
Location: many restaurants, grocery stores, and Under ground station are near by
We paid expensive cost, but the room had bugs, we saw the bugs were very busy running on the desks and bathroom floor, ....we don't know what kind of bugs, also the room carpet was dirty. We did change from the double size, but with bugs room to a small, hot, single size room, the bathroom was small with a very tiny sink, and the hotel doesn't not have air condition. We must use desk fan to sleep at night. This is the worst, dirty,no air condition, no restaurant, also expensive hotel in our travel experience. You should give us a credit for paying a big double room fee, but stay in a small room.

Shabby hotel, cutting as many corners as possible

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Cons: Maintenance!
You can tell as soon as you walk through the door if a hotel is well maintained or not, and this one is not. Room and accommodation were just about ok but the door lock failed at least once every day (the manager had to come up and operate it manually with some gadget he kept for the purpose - this obviously happens a lot). Lights failed in the bathroom and the shower head needed repair. Not a great experience

Great location close to public transit

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Location
Hotel is centrally located next to a Picadilly line tube station. Good food in the area. Room was basic but clean and comfortable.
