Close to Camden and LondonPosted Jan 9, 2014
I was only in the hotel for two days and the first day I spent sleeping as I was jetlagged. Second day was great though, nice breakfast great staff, friendly and helpful, travelled to Camden markets and then did Tower Bridge, needed more days there though before catching a connecting flight to Malta. All in all close to Underground, 10 minute walk, and suited my purposes. Some maps of Tufnell Park and local streets would have been helpful as well as a guide to eateries in the area and other facilities or attractions.

bad hotelPosted Jan 6, 2014
basement room, extremely dusty and not clean. stayed there for eight days, towels not even changed once! Room not cleaned two of the eight days, with a toilet door that couldn't be fully closed. room quite cold, the hotel is centrally heated and it seems as though they put the heating down at night to save money. avoid at all costs, unless you like being cold, Dusty and depressed!

Experience more inconvenient than not.Posted Jan 5, 2014
Pros: Location. A dry place to sleep. Sufficient breakfast.
Cons: Lacks personal touches of a home & lacks many amenities of an hotel. Title "Hotel" feels somewhat misleading.
Location: Tufnell Park Tavern; excellent food/drinks; very welcoming space. Hampton Heath wonderful outdoor experience--nearby Bull & Last pub.
Location somewhat convenient to Tube station & some pleasant neighborhood amenities in Tufnell Park. Staff is friendly but not steady w/ checking our rooms for trash, towels, soap, toilet paper. We stayed for almost 2 wks., so rooms proved to be very small; no heat during the day. No comfortable place to sit & read in the evenings, since lighting in the rooms is poor. Breakfast functional though monotonous menu.

Nice hotel, simple rooms, 10min away from metro station in the second zone, nice full English breakfast.

Mixed feelingsPosted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff were very pleasant, however the overall cleanliness was not very good and disappointed that, though a kettle was provided with plastic cups I had to provide my own tea and milk. I cannot fault the breakfast.

Nice Breakfast, poor bedroom and bathroomPosted Oct 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The break fast was nice the welcome was OK they hadn't got our booking but they did sort it, after a while. The bedroom was grubby, walls were filled with filled in holes and the bed clothes were clean but just the whole bedroom experience was poor, then we come to the bathroom!! My partner couldn't have a shower and almost didn't use the toile for 2 days, the seal around the shower ( I think it was a shower or was it a hose pipe on the wall, so cold and just dripping out) was brown cracked and fallen away, I couldn't move around in there. There was no coffee and tea making, although it said there was. but it was cheap and a bed, still for London very poor, wont be going back again in a hurry!!!

Charlies Hotel B&BPosted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: This hotel would have to be gutted.
Location: Location was bad. A long walk to the tube. There was nothing to do nearby.
This hotel is in disrepair. The rooms are extremely depressing and so small you could barely move. The bathroom was disgusting and so small you could barely move. The toilet seat was broken and the shower door was broken. They did not have any pictures on the walls. In total when I was shown the room I was in shock. The fact that we took a side trip to Cornwall for several days eased the depressive conditions. Please do not send anyone to this dump. It would truly have an effect of their vacation, if not ruin it.

A night at Charlie'sPosted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The place needs work, very rough exterior but the room was clean and staff was very friendly. Plus free wifi! Less than 10 minute walk to tube and there's a grocery store along the way. The neighborhood is very safe. Our only concern is that the rooms do not appear entirely secure. The windows do not lock so we had to carry our laptops with us around London to ensure their safety.

Handy location, friendly staff, good breakfasts, basic rooms, off street parking, reasonable value for money.
