beware room 11 !!

Pros: The proximity to our relatives house
Cons: an update to the rooms
We booked into the Cisswood as we were visiting family locally. The hotel looked lovely on the website so decided to book. the price wasn't cheap as £180 for one night room only for 2 adults and a child, but we were heading south. When booking in the receptionist only had details of me and my husband, not of our 7 year old son. this was soon rectified when I showed them my booking form. I asked for a quiet room as I am a light sleeper, she did warn us that there was a wedding being held at the hotel and there may be some noise until midnight and this was fine with us. being shown to the room it was clean a quiet, we quickly changed, showered and headed out. the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling & the water from the taps and the shower were a mere dribble. When we returned to the room at 12.30am and tried to sleep there was a loud humming noise. My husband and son slept (husband too much to drink, son hes 7) I gave up trying to seleep at 1.30am and called down to reception to check if our fan in the bathroom was faulty and could it be shut off. I was informed it was the fans from the refridgeration unit behind our room. Joy !!! he offered to move us, but as my son and husband were asleep I declined. I complained again in the morning again when we checked out & was told as we had booked with expedia they could not offer a further discount.

Near to Horsham for daughter's wedding

Pros: The setting was amazing and the gardens impeccable. A beautiful hotel
Cons: Maybe the window frames could be attended to. Thinking only an older hotel like this could get away with them. Difficult to open windows
Location: Location for us was ideal. This time we had no time to visit anywhere but the fantastic St Mary's Church in Horsham.
Hotel appearance excellent and evening meal we had was superb. Used as a base for the wedding so was too busy to try out the swimming pool/gym unfortunately. Maybe next time! We were in Room 1 which appeared to be over the reception/bar area which, as the evening went on, became rather lively with conversation, which was heard in the form a continual rumble in our room. We needed to rest well but unfortunately never got to sleep very early owing to this which was disappointing.

The only real negative was the loud slamming fire doors every morning. Impossible to sleep thought from about 6 am to 8 or 9

This was lovely for one night, only downside was pool area was being painted which reception warned us about. Would reccomend though.

We only stayed for night as we were attending a party nearby. It rained almost all the time we were there. We found them most helpful. I am partially disabled and they were very good about transferring us to one of their bed rooms for disabled.

really disappointed in executive room

Staff formal but helpful. Not that many of them so struggled to deal with the low level of guests present. This meant slow service. I paid extra for executive room and it was very basic and below most standard rooms I stay in. So value for money was very poor.
