great stay

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Everything. Location, price, decoration, cleanliness.
Cons: More light in the sitting room area. Labels on the light switches.
Location: Perfect location, Embankment tube station two minutes away. Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, The Strand, Buckingham Palace, Theatreland , all close by
Perfect location, situated between the river and Trafalgar Square. No wait at reception, staff pleasant and welcoming. We were upgraded on arrival and given a quiet room at the back of the hotel. On the plus side the apartment was extremely well equipped, the kitchen area very well planned. A lot of thought had obviously gone in to providing everything you may need. The bedroom was great and the sofa-bed comfortable (and ready made!) and we had a really good nights sleep. Security was good too, (something to consider as we were two females, staying for a shopping and theatre trip weekend) a room 'key' was required to operate the lift and also to provide late night access to the main entrance to the hotel in the evening. Can't comment on the free coffee in the very pleasantly decorated lobby / sitting area as the machine was being repaired when we were there, but coffee, tea bags and milk were provided in the room so no problem. Only downside is that the sitting room area in the apartment itself was quite dark, with only two dim lights. Also no door on the sitting room so when the hall light is put on to go to the bathroom at night whoever is sleeping on the sofa-bed gets woken up (and not very private if two couples are sharing...).

Good Centrally located hotel with extra facilities

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Central location, Small kitchen to allow cooking and flexibility
Cons: A bath plug and curtain would be nice
Location: Just off Trafalgar Square so perfect for all the major sight seeing London has to offer and great access to the underground and overground
The Citadine was the perfect hotel for our stay for the London Marathon as it was centrally based and perfect for the finish of the marathon as well and onward travel home. It had the added bonus of having a small kitchen in the room as its an apartment hotel, which meant we could cook our own dinner and breakfast on marathon morning. (best food shopping only two stops away on the tube on Tottenham Court Road) The room was great as well, we had an interior facing room, so no real view and would have been a quiet room only for the supercar race that appeared to be happening outside (not the fault of the hotel though!) The room was very comfortable and generally had good facilities, but a few things let it down - I wasn't 100% the toilet had been fully cleaned on arrival, there was no bath plug! so no bath possible and most bizarrely there was only one curtain (clearly should have been two) so we couldn't shut the curtains fully. We were getting up early, so it didn't create too many problems, but had we wanted to have a relaxing wake up it wouldn't have been possible as the day light was streaming through the window.

Located in walking distance of Everything

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: The room was well appointed, the location was central to a lot of attractions, public transportation, and restaurants.
Cons: I would have like a larger bathroom.
Location: The London Eye, Trafalgar Square, West Minster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Leicester Square.
This hotel was located in walking distance of the London eye , Buckingham Palace, West Minster Abbey, Casinos, lots of restaurants, Trafalgar Square and more! The hotel staff was very helpful in getting us to the attractions and giving us advice. The room was a bit small but by London standard it was large. The other amenities were nice such as custom brewed coffee and teas, cable TV with many American shows, free WIFI, and spacious lobby. Whenever we go back we will stay here!

Excellent position at a reasonable price

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: The position of the hotel, you can cook yourself in the room if required, clean, free hot drinks in reception area, staff friendly, reasonable price
Cons: Showers water pressure is a bit low but they still work fine on 'M' floor. Tv's a bit small but picture quality and range of channels is fine
Location: Buckingham Palace is close by, Charing cross rail station round the corner, Trafalgar Square and Leciester Square is walkable in around 5 minutes
The postioning of this hotel could not be better, The Thames, Houses of Parliament are down the road, Trafalgar Square, Charing Cross, Embamkment, and Leicester Square are up. You will save a fortune on travel and taxis to start with and have a good base to tour London! The rooms include microwaves, other cooking facilities and are very clean. The price of this hotel in London is extremely good for the postion it is in (I paid £145 but I am sure this does vary), rooms are mainly wooden floor, safes are supplied in rooms, comfy bed with extra cushions, ironing board and iron all in each room, a launderette is there too!

Location, location, location but facilities issue

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Location, kitchenette, helpful staff.
Cons: Water pressure in the shower.
You cannot bit the location. The hotel is situated in between Trafalgar square and the Hungerford bridge. Many places and services within walking distance. The small kitchenette is very useful and convenient. Staff is helpful and courteous. Nevertheless, the hotel requires mort attention to its facilities maintenance. During 2 different periods of stay, I have encountered several issues that required time investment on my behalf and were involved with some annoyance. Internet was painfully slow for quite a while which could create a big problem if someone relies on the internet for his/her business or vacation plans. TV was mal-programed and required endless adjustments. TV screen is amusingly tiny. The most painful issue was unacceptably low water pressure that could hardly allow taking a shower. Daily plea to the staff didn't make this critical issue resolved. Despite these issues, I would still recommend staying in this hotel for singles or couples that plan to visit London for several days. Advice: Make 24 in-advance reservations through the hotel for shuttle to or from the airport. It costs only 19 pounds in comparison to an average 80 pounds by taxi. Taking a taxi becomes cost effective if you are a party of 3 or 4. There is no other DIRECT form of public transportation (without a switch), not to mention the trouble to carry your heavy luggage. Second advice: small but good gym facility on Bedford street. Ten pounds instead of 20 for Citadine guests.

Citadines in Trafalgar Square is a must!

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Cons: Price
Location: This hotel is in the hub of EVERYTHING GOING ON .... Theatres, restaurants, galleries and loads of shops.
I was very impressed with the service fr om staff. The room was impeccably clean and I would definitely stat there again and also recommend it to friends and family. My only negative would be the price. Slightly cheaper would of been great. Overall though I give this hotel 5/5.
